Food & Service: Staff acted like they didn’t understand English or Spanish when my husband asked them about their specials. The woman at the counter on 3/9/2024 was rude to him. The gentleman was nicer but he seemed to also not understand my husband. As a Latina, the beans were old & the rice was stale. The salsas except for one were not hot nor flavor. The one who made one of the red salsas was good and flavorful should be the salsa maker. The grilled chicken could be helped with more time marinating. There was no mention of a lunch special even after he asked. He spent $29 for 4 tacos & a quesadilla. Nothing else. Outrageously poor service & subpar quality of food.Atmosphere: It was lunch hour so it was busy. Even with it being busy the staff waited on folks sitting in than those picking up or ordering to go.

Diarrhea and Stomach Cramps from lunch there today Extremely slow service. 15 minutes to order drinks, another 20 minutes to order food, 30 minutes to receive food. Was basically full from chips and salsa by the time we got food. What little we did eat caused diarrhea with severe stomach cramping. It may have been the refried beans. They were a grayish color, were an odd texture, and tasted disgusting. But it could've been the shredded chicken. Who knows. Anyone else experience the same please contact me.

If I could give it zero stars. I would. Gross. Do yourself a favor. Do not come to this restaurant. It was the worst experience. Service was awful, food was equally bad. The atmosphere is so far from desirable. There are 2 different types of music playing simultaneously within the restaurant. I will NEVER come here again. Oh, and they were out of water, but charged us $3 for each drink.

I've been going here since my husband and I moved here. The service and the waiters/waitresses were very nice and thorough. The one night that broke me from ever going back, was when a couple was making out beside the register and I had been waiting for almost 2 hours. When I ask for the manager and told him about it he told me in a nice way to wait and I'd get my order. I took it home only to find a large helping of someone's hair in all my food. I went back and showed him and he said I put it in there. Had a big smile in his face to. I managed to contact the woman who owns it and he will no longer be working in their restaurants again. My sister knows the people that own some of these restaurants. I know this is long but needed to be said. Thank you

We have been eating here for years. No more. This lady pictured is so ridiculously loud my wife and I couldn’t even talk to each other. Honestly couldn’t hear my own words. This lady is there all the time. I would imagine every person in the place can hear her. I said something to the manager and he told me she had been there since they opened. According to google that would be 11am. This was 645 when I spoke to manager. Appears they don’t know when to cut people off either. Absolutely ridiculous. This lady along with the group of people she was with should be ashamed of themselves. I would never let anyone I was with act like this in public.

El Potrillo is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the metro area. The food is always excellent. However, tonight I had one of the most bizarre, worst service experiences I have ever had, and it left me extremely confused.The name on my ticket is Reina, but I am not sure if this was actually our server. I was with 2 other people, and we all arrived at slightly different times. The first guest got there, got their drink order and queso, and I arrived about 5 minutes later. The third guest arrived about 5 minutes after that. So, 10 minutes has gone by and the server has not come back to take the other guests' drink order or food order. I waived someone down and asked them if they were the server for our table and she said, "Yes." When I said we'd like to order our drinks, she said (referring to the guest who arrived first), "She already has her drink." This was very confusing. Yes, the first guest had her drink... but there were now two additional guests (and they knew there were going to be 3 people in total at this table). The server seemed very aggravated that she now had two additional people to take care of.The next incident occurred when our orders were brought to the table. One person ordered 1 quesadilla but 2 were brought out. Another person ordered 4 tacos and only 1 was brought out.The only positive thing our server did was keep our drinks refilled, and I am appreciative of that. However, I am still extremely confused at why she seemed so bothered that we needed drinks and food when she said she was indeed the server for our table. Aside from the refills, she was very inattentive, and I had to flag her down several times. We had to ask for our checks TWO HOURS after we finished eating. I am very puzzled by the whole experience.
We love this place. Great food and service! I like that, even if I don’t call ahead, I can order take out at the counter, and get my food quick, hot, and most importantly correct.

My daughter asked for a booth seat. The waitress proceeded to take us to a side room to a booth tucked in a corner. The main dinning area wasn't full, there were plenty open booths. My daughter asked could we sit in the main dinning area. The waitress took us to the back of the restaurant away from the other customers who were eating. I'm not one to play the race card. We were the only black people in the restaurant at that time. We decided to leave. I refuse to spend money at a place that discriminates.
