Taste of Detroit is a culinary gem that captures the essence of Motor City's flavors in every bite. From the moment you step inside, the aroma of sizzling burgers and savory lamb euros envelops you in a warm embrace of gastronomic delight. The burgers, crafted with precision and care, boast a perfect balance of juiciness and char, while the lamb euros, tender and aromatic, transport your taste buds to the bustling streets of Greece. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, a testament to the chef's dedication to excellence. The ambiance is cozy, inviting you to linger and savor every morsel. In a world where dining experiences can often feel rushed and impersonal, Taste of Detroit stands out as a haven of culinary craftsmanship and genuine hospitality. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this small restaurant is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience.

Went here today and hit them at probably the worst time and still was impressed. We walk in and there are already 3 or 4 tables (one with 8 people) waiting for food (there are only about 6 four seater tables in the place. Their digital menu signs were not working so the three of us had to huddle around a single large printed menu at the register. The lady behind the counter was very nice (but also busy trying to handle phone and counter orders) and we place our orders, get our drinks and sit down. Next we wait, for a long while. The large table eventually has some, but not all of their food brought out and we overheard the lady asking the table if they could swap some sides to onion rings they declined. Apparently they had run out of fries. We had ordered fries. We wait some more the lady has disappeared and a teenage girl seems to have replaced her for a bit at the counter taking orders. The rest of the large table's orders come out (with fries). More waiting, then one of the smaller tables' orders come out. The lady asks if we need ketchup, yes, she brings us a handful of packets because they only have a few squeeze bottles that aren't empty and those are in use at other tables. Hmmm, something is going on here. A carry out order goes out (the guy was probably one who called as we were looking over the menu) he had been waiting a while too. Finally after probably close to an hour, we get our food. I take my first bite of a fry and it tasted like it was a low quality, partially green, crinkle cut fry cooked in an air fryer (no crisp at all) with a little added seasoning. Not a great start, but they did run out of fries so I decide to reserve judgment at this point because these aren't likely their usual fries but instead whatever the lady could find when she disappeared for about 15-20 minutes during our wait. I try another fry, slightly better at least it wasn't green tasting, and the added seasoning is pretty good. Then I try the burger. Let me tell you about the burger. It was a simple thing at my request, just a double with cheese, bacon, ketchup, and mustard. It was also so much more. Two large smash patties, perfectly cooked, and nearly perfectly seasoned (maybe just a pinch too much salt), melty cheese, and tasty smoked bacon. The burger was soooooo good. Another at my table got the Belle Isle which combined a single burger patty with fried chicken, I had considered this and regret not trying it. He said it was fantastic. My wife got the Turkey burger and despite its large size devoured nearly the whole thing (she is famous for having left overs nearly anywhere she eats but not this time). It was fantastic! As we were eating the lady, and then later the cook, came to check on us. They explained that they had two baseball teams come in earlier (we had arrived around 2pm) and clean them out of a lot of their ingredients (this explains the fry situation). We assured them that the food was fantastic and worth the wait and it absolutely was! If we lived in the area we would be back here regularly for our burger fix. TLDR: We came on a bad day, had to wait a while, but it was well worth the wait. Minus one star for the wait and the slightly too salty burger. Would definitely go again and probably update this with higher rating the next time we are in the area (we live out of town).

This is a small eatery mainly for takeout. The people are very nice and the food is made to order.

I was told they have the best burgers in town, so I had to check it out. After the 4th burger in the same week, I can say Yes, they do have the best burgers in town. LolYou may want to check it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Love the food here! My wife and I have eaten here quite a few times when we're in Brandon. I love the Ambassador burger. It is juicy, flavorful, and a unique blend with sautéed bell peppers. My wife gets the Taste of Detroit sub and she loves it. Each item is cooked to order so it takes some time, but your patience will be rewarded.

We've had takeout numerous times. Their single burger tastes homemade and always delicious. The fries and onion rings along with the little Coney dogs are very, very tasty. You won't be disappointed.
