Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

I got seated right away. After about 20 minutes I had to get someone to come take my order. The food was really good so it made up for the service. Restaurant was really clean. Server was very nice. Overall I enjoyed my meal and had a pleasant experience.

Waitress was slow and just not on her game didn’t check on us one time had to get every other waitress to get us biscuits drinks and everything else idk what the malfunction was but the food was good

Happy to say this location, once one of the most troubled I visit, seems to have improved. Was greeted and seated promptly, dining room was clean and waitress courteous. Unfortunately, they were out of the menu choices I preferred - not unique to this location but has become the signature of the chain. At least the waitress was upfront about it, rather than waiting for me to order only to let the air out of my balloon afterward. Really can’t wrap my head around the constant running out of things, occasionally yes, but after a while it just becomes false advertising. At any rate, I’ll stop again when traveling through. Hopefully the upward trend will continue and possibly lift the ordering staff with it.

Negatives:
Long wait to get seated, long wait for waitress to take our order, waitress never asked if we wanted biscuits and cornbread, was given unsweet tea instead of sweet and when I sent it back was given unsweetened tea sweetened with artificial sweeteners as if I wouldn’t be able to tell, and the dr. pepper was flat.

Upon entering the establishment we were semi greeted by the cashier more than the hostess. My party told the hostess we needed a table for six with one high chair which she then didn’t give us a high chair but gave us a table for six. Apparently the server wasn’t notified that she had a table in your her area and you saw it in her face that she felt some kind of way. Minus her service which I rated as a three star she was not knowledgeable of some items in the general store. One of my party ask for a specific Ginger ale and she did not know what that was. She took the drinks and food orders but she was lackadaisical in her service. Upon sitting we notice that the hostess was sitting other guess that didn’t look like us in other areas that had more servers, we did not want to make scene because the hostess was looking nervous so we just paid and left. Because of the behavior we will not be back to this establishment.

The waitress was very loud. Slammed the condiment on table. Telling us her problems. Afraid to ask for anything bc she was aggravated and frustrated.

We have had this same waitress a couple of times. She is not a good waitress. Brings biscuits but no saucer to eat it on. Let’s you run out of drink. First time I think she’s just having a bad day but 3 times now and it’s always the same.

This Cracker Barrell was much better 10 years ago. It has seriously deteriorated. I blame management. In the past, a manager would roam around the restaurant - checking with the customers to make sure everyone was happy. They don't do that anymore. Now - they have a SURLY hostess bring you to a table and throw the menus down then walk away. A SULLEN waitress eventually comes to your table - takes your order. Several minutes later - you will receive your drinks. After a long time, you will have to catch your waitress to complain about not receiving your food. Eventually - you receive your food. You have to catch your waitress again if you need refills. No one checks on your table. No one cares if you need anything. You will spend over an hour there and you will NOT be happy when you leave. And don't even get me started on the biscuits - if you get them - they will be hard or under-cooked.

My silverware was crusty. They were put of the bone in fried chicken. My girlfriend had the meat loaf and some turnip greens. Asked for pepper sauce and the waitress scratched her head asking what's that. Brought her some viniger for the greens and mob did it smell. Brother in law ordered the countrifried steak and said it was too tough to eat. Left Cracker Barrel headed south and not more than 20 minutes My girlfriend started getting sick. W stopped to get Gass and my girlfriend passed out from pain 3 times. Called an ambulance, got her to the emergency room come to find she developed sevier colonidace and has been sick the last two days. We are thinking the health department needs to be made aware of this. DONT EAT THERE!!!!!!

We ate at Cracker Barrel on 2/01/2025. I had the new chicken tender dipper. They were delicious and the service was excellent. We were seated right away but it took a long time to get our food and the restaurant wasn’t that busy.

Let me start off saying that we visited Cracker Barrel in Hammond over the holidays and we had the best service ever! On today we visited Brookhaven and from the start they were out of orange juice! Then we asked for biscuits and was told that of course they had to be requested due to being wasted by customers. However we didn’t get our biscuits, she gave them to the other couple that came way after us. On top of that the pancakes were horrible. Another thing, appearance/hygiene is everything especially when being a waitress.
