Tropical Smoothie Cafe

I went into this location to pick up a DoorDash order and had a very disappointing experience. When I walked in, I wasn’t greeted or acknowledged at all. There appeared to be two employees working — one at the window and one at the front — yet neither spoke to me.

I waited in the designated pickup area for several minutes and noticed there were no orders in the pickup box, which meant I needed to speak with someone. Even as I stood there, the front-end worker walked past me multiple times without saying a word. Eventually, I said, “Hey, I’m here for a DoorDash order.” The woman at the window turned around and gave me a strange look, so I repeated myself. She then said, “The orders are in the box.” I told her, “Ma’am, there’s nothing here.”

At that point, she told me I’d have to wait. I explained that I had already been waiting, and instead of responding professionally, she immediately became defensive and dismissive. She turned her nose up and began speaking to me with an attitude. After she started berating me, another employee stepped out from the back — not to help, but seemingly just to watch. None of them asked if I needed assistance, and the front worker still never said a single word to me, even after I clearly said I was there to pick up an order.

What confused me most is that no one ever even asked for the name on the order, yet the woman said she was going to call DoorDash and told me I could leave the store — simply because I mentioned that no one had acknowledged me.

I left feeling disrespected, embarrassed, and genuinely shocked by how unprofessional the behavior was. I’ve never been treated that way while picking up an order, and this type of customer service is completely unacceptable.

And to add insult to injury, I even made a Facebook post about what happened. Rather than owning up to how I was treated — especially since I know they have cameras that can replay the footage — they saw my post and blocked me.

This was definitely racially motivated, especially considering the two workers involved were Caucasian. Tropical Smoothie, you ignored me in person and now online. You guys are really setting an example for what customer service looks like. 👏

I noticed that the company wrote a response but I can’t respond. I find it mighty funny that you’re saying this under the Google review when I mentioned this on Facebook and instead of addressing the issue I was blocked! I was blocked on all pages! Not to mention I have filled out the form you added below and clearly got no response. I believe you only responded to me because this is public. Even more reason for you to be ashamed of how you treat customers!

The manager Chelsea is rude. Owners at Tropical Cafe customers shouldn't have to get out of the drive thru to come inside because the manager wants to act silly on the microphone. Please do something about her behavior.

I love the food and I absolutely love the morning crew! With that being said… when the place is supposed to be opened tiil 9:00 PM, I order online to pickup at 6:10 PM.. and the door is locked!! Not so impressed ?‍♀️ After having to wait in line for 15 minutes, well, you can just imagine how the smoothies were by the time they got home! Not pleased at all ?

Nice, relaxed environment. Love the variation of healthy smoothies and other healthy drinks. And I've tried one meal , which was a quesadilla with a side of cooked chopped sweet potatoes, that had a sweet smoked taste. All in all, it's worth going back to try something new for your curious taste buds☺️⭐?⭐?? ?? ???????? ???

Nice Atmosphere and loved the paintings on the walls. Everyone I spoke with was courteous and welcoming. I liked the Blueberry Smoothie and the Mocha Madness Smoothie? ? ?✌️?️???

First time customer… Mocha Madness was my choice & was the best smoothie I’ve had in a LONG time! Also bought a chicken quesadilla.. although I was full from the smoothie ! Ate the quesadilla later and was delicious cold!! Lol ! Love the dipping sauce that came with it . Definitely gonna be a regular stop on my trips from Mississippi to Louisiana

Great restaurant in Brookhaven, MS. A family favorite and we enjoy the great food and smoothies and very kind staff! Thank Y'all Friends and Family MUST TRY!

Mocha madness is my addiction! Staff is always friendly.. everything is delicious but I can’t seem to stay away from my mocha madness!

smoothies are great. food was good when they first opened but now the chicken tastes nasty and has tendons in it and they served me my sweet potatoes freezing cold.

Great food and great staff. Will definitely eat here again. Bahama mama is delicious.

I think they are short-staffed. It takes a while for them to answer at the drive- through. I like the new smoothies, and they are always nice.
