Beef dry. Pork dry and both had no flavor. Don't go there! In town for Mississippi Blues experience, this was the worst. Service was good. Place was clean, food bad.
We had a quick BBQ lunch at Abe's (immediately by the Crossroads blue guitar signage at the nearby intersection in Clarksdale, MS), and it has a hometown restaurant vibe to it. There is outdoor seating and plenty of tables inside too. We had fast and friendly service, and unlike other reviewers, we loved our BBQ sandwiches! It is not fancy, but is a good stop for a quick bite.
Ribs were dry. Could not taste the rub because they covered the ribs with sauce. They didn't even remove the back membrane! Very disappointed. Turn the TV off! Play some blues.

Its a no for me. Only one person working the floor, so I cleaned my own table.
Employees were nice, and I gave it a 2 because of the atmosphere, otherwise I would have rated it a 1. Food had no flavor, beans were bland, potatoes salad came from a store. The meat had no favor and was extremely greasy. I left my plate full and walked out. I paid because I ordered it. Went down the street to Walmart and got Tums. Had heartburn almost immediately.
Look at the grease one the table from the plate in the pic.

We ordered rib plate and a pulled pork sandwich. My wife did not get to try the ribs because she was brought out a pulled pork plate instead. Both meals tasted like nothing but vinegar. We had two other people with us only only one out of the 4 of us ate the food. Me and my left with eating and went to McDonald's. We where still charged for the food. I would not recommend.

Ribs so tender it melts in your mouth. A Southern charm. First time having half 'n half (half sweet, half unsweet tea) which I enjoyed.

Don't expect award winning food, but the food was pretty good and the people were very friendly. Place was a little shabby, even for a BBQ joint in Mississippi. The story behind the place is worth a meal there in itself. And its right there at the crossroads.

The fact that it was so disgusting I had to leave a review it was just that serious. I have never had BBQ that taste this horrible before in my life. Even the Cole slaw was horrible and bitter like it was loaded with vinegar. The waitress had a bad attitude and acted as if she didn't want to answer any questions about the menu, we were from out of Jackson, so this was our first time. When I asked for ribs and I specified ribs with the bone since she looked at me confused, she replied we don't have ribs. Now I was confused because what BBQ place doesn't serve ribs with bones. So, I went with something I didn't really want the BBQ beef and when it arrived it looked like I order a plate of dog food. The BBQ sauce was just...... Everything was bad even something as simple as lemonade. I would never return to this place.

This place has great BBQ and a really cool vibe inside. The staff was very friendly. If you're here, you likely came to see the Crossroads, and this historic spot is a perfect part of that experience. It's not fine dining, but that's what makes it good.

If you are ever any near Abe’s you need to make the detour to check this place out. Best BBQ, and the chili slaw hamburgers are the best! Make it a Super Abe while you are at it, I assure you you will not regret stopping by.

What a great place to eat at!! Great service and great food!!
If you are really looking for BBQ, skip Abe’s. It was mediocre at best. Most of the menu is burgers and chicken strips anyway. Fries tasted like the oil needed to be changed. Unless you are desperate for food, just keep driving and find something else. One positive, the food was served quickly and drinks were refilled.
Morgan Freeman's place. Awesome 👌 👏 👍

Like many others have stated, the service left something to be desired. It was confusing. The food was passable at best. After reading the reviews of burgers and tamales being better than the BBQ we couldn’t even imagine how poor the BBQ must be… We also found it expensive for the quality.
