Visted on 3/19/24 service was excellent and food was on point and freshly made. I couldn’t ask for better service. Mateo was a great waiter even though we had to translate a bit. This little hole in the wall beats out Picantés and Salsa’s hands down. This is now my go to spot for Mexican food. The only thing it is lacking (personal preference) is lengua and barbacoa tacos. I prefer my Mexican as authentic as I can get where as local folks are accustom to the mundane and non seasoned foods that are offered. It is tucked back across from Walmart in Clinton,MS by down range tactical gun store and the parking is messed up but he food and service is most definitely worth it.They will get my support and I will do my best to help them prosper in this struggling economy.

Really great place. Birria tacos were so good. The thing is I took my Hispanic friend there and our waiter only talked to my friend in their language which was rude. Still gave a tip because I know how that feels. But even though the food was good I don’t think I’m going to return.

Most Mexican places all taste the same to me but their happy plate has grilled onions and red & yellow peppers! It’s really good!

Best Barria Tacos i have ever had in my life!!!! 10/10 rating. They should charge more for their Take Out Fee! I was upset that they charged me a fee for take out but after one bite of that Barria...Omg!!! Worth every penny. Definitely Happy Food. Lit my taste buds up!! Explosion of fresh flavors!

Drinks Amazing - Food very lackluster!! We Told them it wasn't good we barely touched our plate and they didn't care - still charged us full price - the shrimp were an orangish color and had a bad taste -- the salsa tasted like ketchup just bad!!!

They had like 3 or 4 people working, 1 took orders and brought drinks and the others brought salsa, chips and food. We had option for booth or table. We sat at a half booth the size of a crescent shaped moon and the table was so close to my stomach that a person needed to be a child to sit comfortably. Guy brought salsa and chips and when I saw the extremely light color of the salsa, I should've gotten up and left right then and there. Instead of guy taking our order once he brought our drinks, he left to take care of all the other tables and made us wait another 10 minutes before finally coming to take our orders. I ordered the chicken chimichanga with shredded chicken and small cheese dip. I'm used to chimichanga having small pieces of bell pepper and onions mixed in with the chicken but this was nothing but heated up, uncooked shredded chicken swimming in water. The cheese dip was not spicy but bland. There was no taste to anything. The best part of meal was the coke beverage. Waiter did not bring bill so we just walked to register as we were more than ready to go.

I’ve been on a taco thing lately as I’ve been out of town in Birmingham, where there are at least as many taco trucks/street taco spots as there is Tex-Mex. And if you’ve grown up on Tex-Mex (which has its place), good birria and elotes will make you cry.So low and behold when I was searching for a taco place at home, I find out that El Patron is not just another run of the mill Mexican place (they all kind of run together ngl).I ordered a birria plate with three tacos, two pastor, and three asada, rice and beans, and guac for a few people. You get the option of having your tacos with the traditional corn tortillas, cilantro, and onion or the American flour tortillas, cheese, and tomato. (I chose corn/cilantro/onion.)Everything was really good. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the birria being double tortillas but I know that’s a thing at a lot of places, but it was a bit dense. The meat portion was large and the consummé was great. The pastor tacos were the star for me with lots of pineapple and not over cooked. The asada was good as well, but I only had a bite as I didn’t order them for myself. The guac was better than average, but the chips lacked seasoning…and yeah, the salsa was more like something I’d use to make rice than serve with chips. It was a bit thin and pinkish rather than red, yet it did have a good flavor. The road is a bit dark right there at night, so myself (and the truck behind me) missed the entrance and had to turn around. And parking isn’t the most convenient if you need an ADA spot or have someone in your party who cannot walk very far or cannot do steps. The spots are a little far from the door since the plaza is built into a hill, so there are steps directly in front.Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible, but the ADA spots are a little ways from the door.

Went in for a party of like 20 in a nice size party room. Waiter took care of everybody in a timely manner. Just a jester and I truly understand and have no problem with it you having to add tips to recipes at a certain amount of people but your waiters may get way more if you didn't add it I'm just say.....

Wife order a margarita,, when they brought it to her it looked melted. She asked them why it look like that, they said machine was not right and would not let her change out for another drink. We walked out. No manager at that time.
