First impressions are EVERYTHING with that said here is my impression of Jamie’s in Clinton,MS.

My girlfriend and I arrived at 10:00a.m. and waited for someone to be seat us for about 5 mins. before Christoper Martinez came to the front to offer (insert identifying pronoun).

As we proceeded to order Christopher Martinez explained that he was both the waiter and the hostess which at this time of morning as a consumer would be fine as long as customers expectations were met.

My girlfriend and I both order the $11 sausage gravy plate hers being w/o eggs with a side of bacon and mine being tomato gravy with the eggs (scrambled light) and side of meat. She got a sweet tea and I received a coffee.

The bill was $36.28 which I thought was high being the dishes were $11 and drinks should be around 2.50-3.00. Christoper Martinez did indeed give me a receipt but I had to walk back and get the itemized copy as I still felt something wasn’t right.

Well upon looking at the receipt I was charged $12 for each plate when the billboard states $11 per plate. I was charged 2.50 x 2 for (1) drink and 2.75 for my coffee. I only asked for and received (1) cup for the sweet tea but charged twice interesting.

So I walked up to the counter where Christopher Martinez was and politely inquired about the extra charges. (Insert identifying pronoun) immediately got defensive and argumentative about the prices and extra charges as I explained my concern.

I asked him why does the digital menu state $11 and you charged me $12. He pointed at the paper taped to the counter (0.50 upcharge per egg per order). Fine I don’t have an issue with that I explained expect my girlfriend specified she didn’t want eggs so her price should indeed be $11.

I told (insert identifying pronoun) I understand that he doesn’t make the prices and an employee of Jamie’s where he quickly puffed up and stated it not an employee I'm the manager. I replied to him you may be the manager but your are still an employee as you do not own the restaurant.

On to the extra 2.50 for the drink Christopher Martinez admitted the mistake and gave me money back in the form of cash front the register.

As I was explaining to his about the egg price discrepancy (insert identifying pronoun) was getting more and more argumentative with me the customer.

I explained I’m not here to argue even though the business has the memo on the counter price on the digital billboard needs to reflect the price as that memo is not in direct line of site for patron to see.

(Insert identifying pronoun) response to the discrepancy is I’ll let the owner know. Well I indeed know the owner was onsite as he served a group of ladies in his restaurant.

In closing customers need to get an itemized receipt with their food as to make sure price paid is correct price.

The digital billboard needs to be updated to reflect the cost of inflation as not to confuse patrons in price and avoid an issue between patrons and staff.

Christoper Martinez needs to keep his feelings in check and realize without customers walking in the door (insert identifying pronoun) would not have a job where DEI still exists. It was obvious from my experience that customer service wasn’t for Christoper Martinez.

My coffee was warmer than my food. The bacon was like extra crispy/ burnt it was crumbling. Christopher seemed like he had an attitude. I saw the owner but I didn’t have the chance to speak to him. It was ok I wasn’t too thrilled the biscuits were good, but I feel like my homemade biscuits and gravy is better than this. I get it people make things different but dang this was like a hotel version of bs&g.

I waited for 10 mins to get my food packaged from the to go station , it was cold even after I told him it sat there for ten mins , they guy that brought it out had his hands in his hair , it wasn’t worth it I paid 27. Plus tax on something I could’ve left there , probably come out better at someplace else just being honest , fish was small like kiddo small , shrimp hard , greasy , I have ate here before, never had a bad experience until now

Jamie’s food is seriously lacking in flavor. It’s bland and unremarkable, so if you’re looking for a satisfying meal, I’d recommend trying somewhere else.

I hate giving bad reviews but this place is a future no-go. We went for lunch so not evening prices. The greeter was rude and unfriendly. There site states $10-20. range and we paid $ 50.00 for a simple chicken fried streak and hamburger steak with drink not included. No knife supplied, get your own. The food was ok but service and prices not good. Won't be back.

Jamie's is truly a gem! I've visited numerous times and have never been disappointed. The all-day menu ensures you can enjoy their impeccable dishes at any time. The service is swift, and it's always my go-to spot for weekends. The added bonus? Bingo on Thursday evenings from 6-7:30 is an absolute blast! Highly recommend this place for great food and a fun atmosphere.

Went for lunch with a friend on a Friday. Good crowd. Bar looked closed, was empty. Dining room full of people. Order at counter as you come in. Great menu selection. There is also a buffet but neither I nor my friend saw it on the menu. Buffet size is small. Looked like home cooking. Drinks are self serve as are any condiments you want for your meal. I ordered the catfish and my friend ordered the hamburger plate. I was a bit disappointed that tartar sauce was in packets. Portion size was more than we both could eat. It was a catch up with your friend meal and we stayed several hours. Left mid-afternoon. Staff never bothered us. Didn't even come over to clear our table until we left. Had beautiful Christmas decor and a nod to the local college with blue and gold balloons. Will definitely return.

Really hate to post a negative review on a local restaurant, however I think $37 for 2 plate lunches with the machine prompted tip. This is a meat + 2 sides the food is good but portions are small. I will have to find other dining opportunities where price and value are more aligned
