We were passing through Pensacola on our way to Destin and we wanted to do something other than Cracker Barrel, so we decided to try Po Folks. The hostess seemed to be having a bad day and she had trouble hiding it. Luckily, our server, Amanda was nice and took care of us! We liked everything we ordered and will return in the future.

Waiting 30 for appetizer and over an hour for food. Used to be my favorite for fried chicken but not today. Service was sub par and never came back after bringing our meal. She dropped off the check and never inquired how our meal was or offered dessert. Next time I’ll pass on Po Folks.

The meal I had today was completely disgusting. I stopped eating after trying at least one bite of each item. I Don’t know how you call what you serve “Home Cooking”. The sweet tea was not sweet , the food was cold/room temperature, all of the food tasted like it was Pre packaged and warmed in the microwave. I used to the eat there when you first opened in Pensacola many years ago but have not eating there in over ten years but was truely disappointed in my meal. Ticket number 866849- 06/11/2022- 12:42pm

I went to Po Folks with our monthly luncheon group most of whom ordered the chicken tender meals. Two of us ordered the liver and onions. The liver was thin sliced and buried under a mound of thin sliced sateed onions. We each had two sides and a bread choice. There was a minor mixup on some side orders but we were a large group and everyone was satisfied with their meals and the service. The prices were reasonable and less than we usually spend. Note to management: add the sauteed onions as a side dish.

Huge portions of down -home cooking! Good prices. My husband had The Whole Shebang salad. It was covered with meat: popcorn shrimp, fried chicken strips and a half slab of chicken fried steak! He literally couldn't finish all the meat! I had a bowl of chicken and dumplings and a side of coleslaw. The coleslaw dressing was tangy and delicious. The chicken and dumplings were tasty but a little bland. None of the food was highly seasoned, but still very satisfying. The wait staff were very pleasant and the dining room was clean and attractive. The patrons tended to be a bit older. Not a party crowd, which was fine with us!

I went into this restaurant for lunch, but they had a ten minute wait, so I'd thought to get takeout. However, I noticed the Cashier, with her mask pulled down completely, coughing on the phone, into her hands, and on the menus! I understand that Florida doesn't mandate mask wearing, and Po Folks doesn't seem to either, but this is a Restaurant and should adhere to stricter health standards to keep everyone safe. If this employee was coughing over everything around her, what's going on in their kitchen? I did walk out and I probably won't be returning to Po Folks.

Food was NOT the PoFolks quality I was used to when they had a national chain...I do not BELIEVE it is the SAME Po FOLKS restaraunt....red beans looked like and tasted like they had been sitting in the bowl all day. WAy overpriced for very low quality food. e will NEVER go back there.

Found this restaurant while passing through Pensacola enroute New Orleans. Food was excellent and plentiful, room was clean and service was solid quality. The only problem I had was that they advertised WiFi but did not have an operational WiFi capability. When I asked the manager he said it had "just" been pulled down because of employee abuse.

I have eaten here a number of times now and NEVER in the last two years have I gotten a bad meal. The manager and owner Russ is one friendly feller and woo howdy those cheese grits could make Ma and Pa Kettle envious. We had a meal recommended by Russ that could easily rival the expensive expensive beach digs for . I had fresh jumbo gulf shrimp fried with a light batter that made you want to dig that last morsel of meat out of the tail. They used three cheeses including Gouda and Sharp Cheddar in they're grits. I was served up some of the best tarter sauce I have had in the panhandle to dip my shrimp in. Finally coleslaw of their own recipe that I could have dang near eaten as a meal in itself. Couldn't end that vittle fest without a large fresh biscuit drenched in sugar cane syrup. Wash that all down with an endless supply of southern sweet tea and they just about had to wheel me out to my truck. Russ, Kaithlyn and crew, ya'll did a great job fillin up this old biker. Thanks and see you next week for a plate of those gizzards and fries. Yeeee Haaaw !!

Craving some comfort food so stopped by here for the first time. I was very impressed. They were doing a brisk business and had to wait on a table briefly. The fried chicken livers, fried okra, fried green tomatoes, and turnips hit the spot.

I go to Po-Folks fairly often during my travels and now because it’s near my work. But what I like most about them is that it’s consistently good food at a good price. The Fried chicken okra and baked apples taste the same at every location, which is usually my go to meal. I have probably tried most of their dishes from the fried catfish to the fried gizzards and never had a bad dish.

True southern hospitality with plentiful entrees cooked to order at prices that can't be beat. Fried or grilled, they have it all. Lunch menu, kids menu, take out, catering and full service dinning.

Love the Fried Catfish, and the fried green tomatoes. would give them 5 stars but their Vegetables could be fresher.

Been here so many times when I visit Pensacola. Always get the same things. White Fish dinner. I really like their tarter sauce. Most sides are pretty good, cole slaw, red beans and rice, etc. All the food looks good, portions are adequate, and I've never heard a complaint except once when my mom got the liver and onions -- a little tough. Always too full to try a desert. Kind of a dark and dingy atmosphere, wish it were brighter. Service friendly. Spelling on signs and on the menu is wrong, like the name of the restaurant. Not all southerners are poor and ignorant, although I know many who are. You wouldn't bring a date here, nor your boss, maybe your minister.
