Food was cold!!!!! Wait is long!!!! Mac and cheese especially! Waiter was running so much I was able to get 1 refill! Drink from the bar came after I ate what was eatable…. So super late! Oxtails were huge just wish it came with rice or something underneath! It literally was just big fat oxtail meat almost cold.. cornbread was cold as well! Not worth the money!

Was seated 7 minutes before approached by a server. Restaurant was not busy, it may have been 3 other tables there. Waitress was not very friendly and did not seem welcoming. Ordered Mac and cheese, it was cold while my other food was hot/warm. The prices are also not worth the food nor serving size.

Visiting from Florida where Jamaican food is abundant and very good.. Godfrey’s Godfrey’s Godfrey’s. I would never pay $38 for oxtails especially if rice doesn’t automatically come with the meal but my fiancé just had to go to this establishment. Was promptly greeted and the hostess was very nice. I ordered the oxtail meal and had greens and rice as a side as the oxtails did not come with rice as I mentioned above. So I get my meal with the oxtails on a plate and the sides served in these little pot type serving dishes. Oxtails were very fatty and somewhat dry. No type of sauce or gravy and had no Caribbean taste whatsoever. Somewhat bland. Instead of trying to serve a fancy looking plate with these unnecessary extra dishes for the sides, just serve a good meal at a respectable price… $38 for a great oxtail dinner is a stretch for me but $38 for subpar oxtail dinner is just outrageous. I will never visit this establishment again. I don’t usually right reviews but felt this one was necessary and I didn’t even mention the service after the good greeting we received. That’s a whole nother story. Just know this. Our server was not attentive at all and I’m a very minimal person. Do better Godfrey’s

Them oxtails were horrible nothing but fat then we addressed it to the server she reached out to the manager all she can say all of them like that 40 dollars for 3 oxtails and 2 sides and cornbread that's hwy robbery I want be back thanks for the experience.....

My daughter attends college in Jackson and I was in town visiting. Decided to try Godfrey's. What a disappointment. For the price, the food was average at best. My fiance and both got the oxtail dinner which included 2 sides. Rice does not come with, it has to be one of your sides if you want rice. It was plain white rice at that. We both got greens which was presented like a collard green soup in a mini pot. In my opinion all that liquid is not needed. I got the Mac n cheese which was under cooked with half melted cheese and bread crumbs on top. I prefer baked Mac and cheese not stove top hit with a torch. Again rice had to be a side so my fiance only had white rice and soupy greens with his almost $40 oxtails. The portions were sufficient however taste was nothing close to Caribbean flavored. I had a $6 sweet tea which was the best thing of the meal. Service was horrible. We were greeted promptly however we were soon forgotten about. We had to ask for utensils and then napkins. We initially asked our own server for condiments however she never brought it. We had to ask two different people for napkins and hot sauce. The 3rd person asked brought it right away so I'm not understanding what the issue was. Never again. Especially for the price. My daughter warned me she said she had gone with her friends and that the food was not all of that. I thought she was just being picky. I wished I had listened.

I ordered the chicken and waffle. The menu did not state that the waffle is a pumpkin spice waffle and I told the waitress once I tasted a small piece that I did not like it and if I could order something else, so I ordered the jerky chicken spring rolls, but still was charged for the chicken and waffle that I did not eat. That was my first and last time eating there.

I wasn’t pleased at all with the wait time on our food. My wife and I waited for over an hour and the food was cold when served. Our waitress Jada service was horrible! The bartender came from his work station to help us out as much as he could. I’m not sure of his name but we thank him so much for helping us out. The music was great that’s about it.
