This was the best Mexican restaurant my fiancé and I had ever been to! The service was extremely fast, our waiter was nice, and the restrooms were very nice and clean. The food was also amazing! We stopped here on our way back from vacation, and we will stop here again next year. :)

We haven't eaten at Mi Toro since they moved to their new location but were impressed by the new digs. Atmosphere is pretty cool. However, the service was very poor. Our meal came before appetizers. We had 6 people in our party and the meals arrived helter-skelter with 15 minutes spread from the first meal arriving to the last one. Drink refills were non-existent unless you flagged someone down. My personal order (the fajitas) was the first thing delivered, but my bowl of shredded cheese and a plate to assemble the fajita was the last to arrive. So the food that came first was cold by the time the rest arrived. Very disappointing.
I gave the food a 2 star rating for that reason and the fact that the street tacos my wife got were very soggy. They were one of the last items out so we suspect it sat for a while before being picked up and delivered - again going back to the service issues.
All in all, the restaurant looks cool - but it quickly loses it charm when your food and service is so poor. With two other Mexican food restaurants in close proximity, diners have choices.
Perhaps we caught them on a bad day? Not sure. Unless something compels us to give them a second try, we'll probably just continue to visit Fogata's which is just down the road. We've not had these issues there.

If you are used to real Tex Mex food... do not go. The salsa had pickle juice or vinegar or something like it in it. The queso was just plain melted watery cheese. The beans were a watery paste, and the meat in the tacos/nachos was nasty. Never eat Mexican food north of Dallas, TX, or east of the Sabine River, best advice I should have followed! Better service would have lessened the blow of the cost, but in reality, nothing can help this place except real ingredients and a new cook!

Did take out. Got a green beef burrito. The beef chunks tasted like pot roast. Not a taste I want in my burrito

I wasn’t planning on reviewing, but it was suggested by google so here I am.
My goal is this: IF YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY ALERT THE MANAGER BEFORE ORDERING because as clear as we were, the server could have cared less.
More detail below but that’s my point. I do apologize sincerely for the Low rating because the place is adorable.
This place is SO CUTE! we were excited to try the place out.
I love Mexican but we rarely go when in transit because I am allergic to things like ?️ ? peppers.
At our local Mexican place, we go there because the refried beans do not have jalapeño and I always buy easy things that are not prepared ahead otherwise, like carne asada.
So we go here and are charmed!
The server comes up and I immediately stuff up in my nose… he must have bathed in cologne and guess who also has allergies to things like this? Yeah. Me.
We wait too long to get our order taken. My husband explains my allergies and made it abundantly clear. We said, no red no green no orange no jalapeño- I will get sick.
So the quaso arrives - the one we were assured has no pepper. I am mortified because my throat swells immediately. I was stupid and didn’t mistrust - and I have never had spicy queso in my life so it was a surprise.
The kitchen is AMAZING they remade my queso!! They deserve 5 stars because it doesn’t sound like to me that they were made aware because the server OBVIOUSLY didn’t take this allergy seriously.
They didn’t have carne asada in the menu so I went with a chimichanga. Again reminder no peppers.
The filling did indeed come with no peppers but I couldn’t eat it because there was peppers in that queso it was drowned in, peppers in the refried beans…
My throat was swelling and I was having trouble - my husband went to get the waiter and told him there are peppers. He said that there are no peppers but there are jalepenos.
I had to leave the restaurant because I was swelling.
I saw the manager and told him- to his credit he was mortified and made it right.
I don’t like giving low stars for restaurants the industry is having enough trouble as it is.

What the John was this place. The deadgum music on the speaker sounded like it was from an elementary school play. Food was okay but went mentally insane because of the music. Well actually on second thought they were playing my friend Gretchen’s favorite song “It’s Magic” by Fenders.

Honestly don’t waste your time! That was a horrible experience. It took 45 minutes for us to get water, chips, and guacamole. Then add on another hour for the food to come out. Our order was only $35 — why did it need to take almost 2 hours?! Such a disappointment. Won’t be back.

Love this place. Very beautiful and food and drinks are great. We went for my bday and they ended up giving me a free shot of tequila instead of fried ice cream. It was so much fun.
Parking: Plenty of parking. That's not a problem.
Kid-friendliness: Very nice to the kids and good environment

The place looks like a palace and the food was great, so why you may ask, is it a 2 star review? Because the bad service eclipses all of that.
We arranged for lunch for a group of 12. The worker at the front pointed us towards tables in the back, so we sat. The jerk waiter then copped an attitude an attitude about us seating ourselves. We told him we were directed by the one up front to sit back here. He huffs off to the back. Our group and 2 tables that already had their orders were the only customers, so they were not busy. We don't even get a menu or drinks for 30 minutes, then the server is rude to my cousin when she asks for a drink. 15 more minutes before our order is taken. Perhaps they had a card game going in the back, because being a restaurant definitely wasn't on their minds. Another jerk, presumably the manager, tells us to wait to be seated next time. Hoss, there is no next time. We would've walked out if the graduate we were celebrating hadn't wanted to eat there. At least I saved on the tip
