I really like this place. The people are friendly. I love the family owned environment. I like the look and feel of the restaurant. All food is good. Tamales are excellent. I will say I’ve been to D’Iberville’s location and Gautier is superior. That is in terms of service and hospitality, at least that’s my experience.

The woman was extremely pleasant and gracious with portions. The gentleman who prepared my food was very skimpy with the ingredient portions and grumpy. The food tasted excellent; however, $16 for a bowl, a drink and a bag with only 8 tortilla chips in it is a bit pricey.

The food is really good and really fresh. I have been eating burrito zone for years. I feel like the Gautier location is better than D’Iberville - has better hours/availability and small things like the tortilla chips and to go containers are better in Gautier. But, what’s disappointing about Gautier is the amount of meat they put on the kids plate. I go and get them for my kids because they love them. Chicken and cheese plate. And the amount of chicken they put on there is a joke. 1 spoonful and barely. They even knock off some before putting it on your plate. When I’m spending $25 for just 3 kids meals, with only chicken and rice, I expect the chicken portion to be reasonable and not skimpy. They really need to improve this.
