My husband and I (a married couple) went to eat at No Way Jose in Grenada with our three kids, my parents, and sister — so 8 of us total, but 5 of us as ONE immediate family. When we were seated, they asked adults sit at one table and our three kids at a separate table. Not the end of the world, but definitely not ideal when you’re trying to eat as a family.
We ordered a large cheese dip for $10+ and it came out half full. When I politely went to ask about it, I was treated like I didn’t know what I was talking about and shown a small cup “for comparison.” The “large” literally fit into that small cup. A whole table behind me even agreed it looked half full. That was the first red flag.
Then the food came out. Everyone’s meal was barely warm, and my husband’s and mom’s plates were cold. No one wants to pay for cold food.
When the check came, 20% gratuity had automatically been added — because of our three kids. I understand large parties being charged gratuity, but a family of five? And to not even seat us together? It felt wrong. Especially after the service and food quality we received.
After her pointing it out, in small writing at the bottom of the menu, It stated at the bottom of the menu that a family of five will be charged gratuity, but here’s what made it worse: another group with the same number of people came in after us and they were treated like a “party,” with tables pushed together. We didn’t get that courtesy — but we still got the 20% added.
I’ve worked in the food industry. I’ve waitressed. I understand off days. But I also understand earning your tip. If I gave poor service, I took responsibility for it. Automatic 20% gratuity — especially after cold food, attitude, and not being seated together — just doesn’t sit right.
By the time you pay for half-filled appetizers, cold meals, taxes, 20% gratuity, and a card fee, it adds up quickly.
We’ve eaten here for years and never had a complaint until now. But this one? Our family of five won’t be back. 🫶🏼 this is your warning to be prepared to be price gouged as a family of 5 and 3 being kids.

Then their $10 cold cheese dip was only half way full. Sweet tea was like syrup it had way too much sugar! So loud in there you can’t talk to the people your table.

Food was mediocre. DO NOT GET FROZEN MARGARITAS terrible, no alcohol in them. Just a commercially made product. Price is ridiculous. Server could not understand any of us when ordering and didn’t get it correct even after pointing to the items in the menu. There are other authentic Mex restaurants in the area. Sadley the server automatically added a 20% tip to our party of 3. No warning no notice now no returning guests.

Quality seems to have gone down since last visit. Philly Cheesesteak and the meat was rough and chewy. Fries tasted like they had been under a heat lamp for a while. They did away with their delicious homemade potato chips.
