The food here is always good, as usual. Unfortunately, the service on this visit was terrible. I asked if they had lemonade, and the waitress replied “pink lemonade.” I said that was fine and requested half lemonade, half sweet tea. She responded, “It’s called an Arnold Palmer,” and walked off. First of all, I know what an Arnold Palmer is—that wasn’t the issue.
About ten minutes later, I politely asked for a water. She didn’t respond, so I repeated myself with, “Excuse me ma’am, may I have a water?” She snapped back, “I heard you, you want a water, I have to put these dishes up,” then walked off again. She never brought the water, nor did she check on our table for the rest of the meal.
I really do love this place for the food, but rude and dismissive service like this is unacceptable. If I could give this waitress negative stars, I would.

Over priced and straight up nasty. Soggy fried green tomatoes, soggy rotten shrimp, no meat in the crab.

Buffet plenty of different choices such as fried chicken, pork chops, black eyed peas, candied yams. If you vegan you would like it. The wait staff is friendly and helpful.

Serve same food everyday
Not my first rodeo here.
Back during one of numerous power outages we experienced during the winter, I brought my family for Sunday lunch rather than stay in a cold, dark house being miserable. Let me tell you, other than a wobbly table, the service was warm and the food was delicious, all like a big hug during a time of despair.
I've also brought my mother on Mother's Day and if we hadn't made it as early as we did, it would've been standing room only.
Today, I was hoping for ribs because we've had them on the Sunday bar before, but no dice.
However, both baked and fried chicken and fried catfish were delicious.
So, too, the mac and cheese and dressing.
Greens were definitely from a can and had not been seasoned well but were okay.
Bananas in banana pudding were not ripe yet, which is the whole secret to excellent banana pudding, but I'm sure it's hard to keep up with demand while waiting for bananas to ripen.
Desserts are typically pre-packaged pies and cakes which are pretty good but I avoided this trip.
Problems this visit:
-besides the initial drink we were served, there was absolutely no service thereafter. I had to go find someone to get a refill on my drink-yet I was asked at checkout if I would like to leave a tip for my server
-the ladies room was out of paper towels or the machine was malfunctioning-would've told my server, but...
-the price, the price...$20.00 per person with water, probably more if we'd ordered tea or a soda. Now I'm a big gal, but sorry, even with two trips to the bar, I just don't think I ate enough to justify the cost.
Overall, though, I love coming here, but I'm not a local and maybe they have it figured out better--- well over an hour after opening on a Sunday, the restaurant was nowhere near the capacity I'm used to seeing, with most patrons choosing to-go plates instead of dining in.
And though I've only been on Saturday night and Sundays for lunch, and it's been several years since that Saturday night, I can't say I would recommend that night's buffet unless it's changed. The star of the show-the seafood-was just not good, with many items being and tasting highly processed and pre-packaged.
I still recommend Brando's, especially for that fried chicken, but I also recommend you call ahead for the buffet menu, the price and the hours of operation to ensure you make the most informed choice.
The food was too bland and not seasoned. The waitress was not good had to look for her to get refills. I expected better food.
It was too many fried items for my liking. Don't get me wrong the fried items were good. I'd just prefer something like baked fish and steamed broccoli. Instead the broccoli was deep fried. It was delicious prepared that way. But for those of us who need to avoid fried foods there was few options besides the smoked chicken quarters.
I had their all you can eat seafood buffet on 2/28/2025. The cost was $30. However, if you want crab legs it will cost an extra $10. Also, the drink is an extra charge. I didn't eat but a few bites. The food wasn't good at all. The boiled shrimp was raw and tasteless, I ate 1 shrimp. Everything else was either too salty, spicy or tasteless. The only thing I was able to eat was the salad. The dessert was taken up before I was able to get anything. I will not darken their door again.
I ate the buffet at the restaurant in Crystal Springs a few weeks earlier. Everything was really good. Excellent southern cooking.
The service was excellent at both locations.
