I simply love The Box Project Program....I am mother to 5 children and when they were young I had 2 blessed sponsors. I am so thankful for this program. I am 51, now my kids are grown and I recently received 2 beautiful girls from foster care. When you help those who needs help, it's a surreal feeling. Blessings to everyone that goes above and beyond to help these kids.🙌🙌♥️
18 years ago, I was in a spouse abuse shelter in KY. My whole family and I were from CA, but my husband was from KY. So I didn't have anyone to ask for any help. We had to move into the homeless shelter there and one of the staff at the shelter asked me if I would want to be a recipient to get help for my children and myself. I knew we had needs, so I went ahead and filled the paper out and gave it back to her. We found a house to rent and decided to leave the homeless shelter. After a few months, the actor, Richard Jenkins' wife, Sharon, became my sponsor. She called me up to find out what we needed. We hit it off the very first moment we talked. We had a great time getting to know each other. She was so gracious and generous! She gifted three of my six children and I, clothes, kitchen items, toys and many hours of talking and giving me great advice. She also sent me letter writing stationery all of the envelopes stamped and self-addressed. I learned all about her family and herself. When I felt we had all of our needs met, I wrote told her that if she wanted to go to another needy family that would be fine. She did and I'll never forget her kindness to us. I still have the silverware she bought us and the cookware. We had nothing when we moved into our new place, but because of the Box Project, we not only had our needs met, but we became good friends, although we have lost touch now. Thank you for having the Box Project and giving people an opportunity to not just receive but also I appreciate the giver so much!! It's a wonderful project!
I've been sponsor 2 families for the past 17 years. BEST decision I ever made was to join The Box Project. We have been lucky enough to meet the family in Mississippi and hope one day to make it to South Dakota to visit the other family.
