A hidden gem! We had lunch here based on reading reviews and it did not disappoint!! Hubby & I each had the smash burger lunch special with fries (so good!) and kettle chips for him. The onion bacon jelly and aioli on this burger was fantastic, but the burger patties themselves had an excellent flavor! Mom had the catfish special and loved it!! (Thick tender fish fillet cooked perfectly) Portions are big and satisfying. The belle of the ball was the bananas foster! ? (and I don’t like banana) This dessert is worth coming in even if you don’t eat anything else! ?
The only downside was the prices ? $15.99 each for the lunch specials and $11 each for dessert. (We didn’t eat dinner that night because we were still so full, so we justified the cost ?)

We love underground cafe… came about 2 months ago for the first time and the service and food were good… we’re in town this afternoon running errands and decided to stop for a late lunch … got the Reuben and was not disappointed… even though it was not on marble rye as the menu said it was still amazing… and the fried pickles were great as well… will be one of regular haunts from now on

I know walking down the stairs can be a chore but, the meals are way beyond regular fare. I hate to say this but Thursdays are becoming a habit for lunch and what ever they do to meatloaf is incredible. The taste of it is enough for my wife to say please let’s go. I am hung on the smokehouse burger for lunch. At night the spicy shrimp cocktail is unusual but it seems to vanish. If you can’t find something you like then you haven’t tried it. We try to order different dishes on occasion and we try to adopt other dishes as well, Shrimp and grits, shrimp Alfredo, chicken Alfredo. We do enjoy this place and the staff is great. Thank you !
Remember, it’s a small place but it’s a quality place
