We came to Holly Springs, MS, for my fiancé’s first cousin’s funeral service — not the reason you ever want to come home, but one of the highlights of the weekend was discovering Southern Eatery.
As a New Yorker, I admit my standards for food are high, but let me tell you — this place did not disappoint! We went for lunch (party of 5) and were immediately taken care of by Latoya, our amazing waitress. She was attentive, patient, and explained how the buffet worked (translation: all-you-can-eat + desserts = music to my ears and stomach 🎶🍴).
The food? Pure soulful magic. Whoever was in that kitchen put their whole heart — and foot 👣— into every dish. Seasoned to perfection, comforting, and absolutely delicious. I even had the pleasure of meeting Tamia, the owner’s daughter, who was just as gracious and welcoming as the food was filling. I asked her to please let her mom, Katrina, know that we left happy, satisfied, and FULL.
And the best part? The price didn’t break our pockets — affordable and tasty. 🙌🏾 Southern Eatery has officially made it onto our “must-eat” list whenever we’re back in Holly Springs. Trust me, if you’re in town, do yourself a favor and stop by. You’ll leave with a happy heart and a full plate. 💕

Some of the best fried chicken, green beans and apple cobbler I've ever had. Staff was great, food was excellent, prices were very affordable. Definitely going back.
Very good customer service! My server was very polite and kind. I visited on a Saturday and they have a rotating menu. My food was hot and delicious. My only wish is that there was more selection. But I do understand that this family owned business is keeping it simple and what the cook, they cook consistently well. I will definitely visit again on chicken and dressing day!

Visited for a short day trip from Memphis. Buffet was great. Little hard to hear around the server wall (just my hearing really.) but overall the food was great. Good seasoning and great sweet tea! Make sure you try the desert and take a walk to walk it off afterward. Also try the pork chops. Lots of historical buildings around. Great great parking all around.
