The people were awesome and so was the food

What a dump. First maybe a hole in the wall. Buts a dump from outside and inside. Rude staff, and food is so so. They don’t believe in diversity. I got impressed they only like white peoples and bet they are trump supporters.

Great food and reasonably priced. Darwell and his wife Nettie were awesome! Super laid back place.

Killer food!! Was in town from Ohio. My buddy highly recommended we stop here, said it was a must stop place. He was not lying. Aside from the amazing food. The atmosphere and interactions with the staff was great and amazing. We had crawfish etouffee and smoked sausage and red beans. We were lucky also they had a large order of gumbo a customer from out of town was coming to pick up. They brought us out a sample bowl of that on the house!! Just amazing above and beyond! Thanks so much Darwells!

The food is good and you can bring your own beer because they don't sell it.

Can’t say enough about this place. Food is fabulous and the people are so nice. The Chef is so engaging. We asked him simply to fix us something good for a take-home dinner. Told him nothing more and he did just that! Even supplied reheating instructions!!!

Our first time there. Food was amazing, the owner and staff were warm and welcoming. The owner said she was sorry that we'd never want anyone else's bread pudding. She was right. We'll be back - it was great.

Have to visit Darwell's every time I'm in the area! DDD brought me here the first time many years ago and I've never had crawfish etoufee like his anywhere else. It has set the bar!

If you are looking for amazing Cajun/Creole cooking that is served in a funky, eclectic atmosphere by a family that loves to feed people, you have found Nirvana. We eat here EVERY time we are in town and are never disappointed. The crawfish etoufee is magnificent, crab cakes are light and flaky and the shrimp creole has just the right amount of spice. The husband/wife/daughter team keeps the place humming smoothly and the guests looked after. Wish they would relocate to Michigan so we could eat here more often!❤️

This spot was recommended by a friend, but I was less than impressed. The waitress (chef’s daughter) was incredibly sweet and the chef did come out to speak to us which I thought was nice. BUT, my experience started with the cashier at the front letting me know they wouldn’t serve anything deep fried to my children. I was a little thrown off, but to each their own. I asked to use the restroom before I ordered (my children are 7 & 3 and they needed to go) & she said “as long as you’re coming back to order” in a less than friendly tone with no eye contact. I came back after the restroom and ordered our food. 2 children’s red beans and rice, a seafood pasta dish, and 3 drinks. It’s cost me $63 which seemed pretty high, but I thought maybe the food would be worth it. It wasn’t. Red beans were just okay and the pasta dish was pretty bland. The drinks were from cans and not refillable. The lighting in the restaurant was awful. It just wasn’t a good lunch experience overall and definitely not worth $63. I think this place could be great if some changes are made. Good luck to y’all in the future.
