I need to first provide a disclaimer - it was Easter Sunday and naturally, many places were closed. I chose it because it seemed quaint and interesting, which it was. I called ahead to confirm that they were open. They were closing the dining room early, but we could get take-out. Outside there’s not much to see, but we were able to park our RV. We were able to choose from MANY items on the hot table, and the portions in our take out boxes were very amply filled. Service wasn’t very friendly, but we got what we asked for. The food left a lot to be desired. The fried chicken that they are well known for was completely dried out as were the cornbread muffins which literally crumbled into tiny bits. The smothered chicken and pig’s feet were tasty and so were the sides. Maybe if it were another day, things would have been better.

Been wanting to stop in to this place for the past few years to check out the fried chicken. Talk about a very disappointment... Chicken was average, and the food was horrible. NOW, if you wanna eat some delicious blackberry cobbler, this is the place. Hands down it reminds me of my grandmother's.

I am a southerner and this is not what I expected. Born and raised, and this was not it. I found the food had no seasoning, taste like it was straight from the can. I couldn’t identify some items, and gravy was very greasy, Place was dirty and uncomfortable and to be honest it was the worst food I ever experienced in an establishment and cost was unbelievable. Tourist Trap for sure.

I like some old time food. I can say I tried it and won't go back. I think people have over boosted the rating. Food at best is average and over price.

Love the old country setting, and the food is definitely like Grandma used to make! Only one star on service it's an all you can eat buffet. Very friendly people.

This place is the real deal. Best fried chicken and every side dish you love from the south. The peas and beans were also the star. It’s a don’t miss if you are in the area. It’s quietly world famous. And the manager sings to you as you pay your bill. What could be better than that?

To start off I'm very picky about good food. Don't be fooled by a TV show. We drove 2 hours to go see what the hype was about and paid $61.20 for two of us to come back home and eat with my mom. The chicken was slim picking the food was Blan and tasteless. I was very disappointed in the food. I was thinking Ole Country Store in rural Mississippi. Was I wrong! My girlfriend said we should have stayed home and you cooked. The field peas was flavorless, the cabbage flavorless, the Turpin greens flavorless. Let's just say the food was terrible and had no southern flavor whatsoever. Did find out that the owner/ cook was from Florida and that says a lot when you are looking for something southern Mississippi style. The staff was good however the place was very disappointing for as an old county store of rural Mississippi. I seen nothing but old dishes nothing pertaining to anything to do with an old store. Just a bunch of junk in my opinion. I paid our bill and even left a tip cause bought experience is the best. I hope my review helps someone down the road. It's just my opinion of this place and not everyone experiences are the same. The Food was Terrible and nasty

I love this old place. It was my birthday Saturday and we drove 2 hours just to come see Mr. D and eat. He sang Happy Birthday to me and the meal was wonderful as always. Great customer service. Thank you for all of your hard work staff. Great job. Highly recommend stopping by. Good ole southern cooking and charm.

We were greeted by the best hostess in all of the Mississippi Delta. She sat with us and drew some of the finest artwork around. I've been to fancy places all over the world and never have I been gifted artwork drawn as I ate some of the best chicken, potato salad and blackberry cobbler I've ever had -next to my grandfather's of course :)Thank you, Mr. D and ladies.
