The Downtowner is very inviting and open. The layout is very spacious and the atmosphere is perfect for a meal. Our waitress was awesome I wish I remembered her name. We started with the loaded fried green tomatoes with the pimento and some sorta jam i think. They were good, I do wish the slices were a little bigger but they were good. I had spinach artichoke dip as well and my wife said it was perfect. For the entree we had wings with boom boom sauce, parmesan garlic, and sweet Asian. First the wings were perfectly cooked and the sweet Asian was great. The parmesan garlic needed a bit more parmesan, and the boom boom i just was not a fan. Overall we will repeat cause the burgers looked awesome. Thank you Downtowner for a good meal and waitress you were awesome (blonde wearing converse).

Found this great place while travelling! Burgers are off the charts! Big, juicy and flavorful without be greasy at all. Fries are crispy and the onion rings have a nice light batter and nearly melt in your mouth. Wish I could give more stars

Not trying to talk bad about this place at all, but decided to give this place a try. Ordered our food to go, and was highly disappointed when I made it home. My husband got the Tuscan chicken which we paid extra to have topped with mushrooms and cheese. The chicken was bland and instead of it being two chicken breast, was more like one that was butterflied open. He got okra and onion rings for the sides and I kid you not, he got 5 thinly sliced onion rings. You could have put them together to make a regular size single onion ring. I got the blackened salmon salad which was equally as bad. We had to add more to our meals to be satisfied. I understand we got to go and I understand that inflation has hit a lot of places hard, but I don't mind paying a little more to have a decent amount of food. Was also told our order was going to be one price on the phone and when I arrived to pick it up was given a higher price. I noticed the sign saying that inflation had increased the prices which I am done with, just thought it was weird to be given one price on the phone and another price when I picked up the order. Maybe this was a one off experience and normally everything is amazing, but personally, will not be returning.

First of all I'm not here to bash this place because it's a nice place and the food is good. However, the menu's prices did not reflect the prices that me and my friend were charged on our ticket. We were not told that the menu was not updated either. Also there was an %18 gratuity charged on a $60 meal. There was NO mention that we would be charged this upon entry OR on the menu. I just felt so violated by what happened and barely had enough money to cover the ticket. Whenever I was then charged another fee to pay with a debit card. So the ticket ended up being over $70. I will NOT be returning here.
My mother and I ate lunch there today, as a literal certified and trained chef I would totally recommend this hidden gem! we had the fried green tomatoes and spinach dip for appetizers I had the dynamite shrimp tacos with the fried onions and mom had grilled shrimp tacos with fried okra. The server was very sweet and did a fantastic job .

When we walked in. It was really inviting. The atmosphere is really nice.
The restaurant is really clean including the restrooms.
We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door.
It was not too busy due to it being late during the week.
It took about 15 minutes to get our food.
I had the Cajun shrimp pasta. I'm going to tell you this. I am very impressed with this pasta. The flavor was absolutely delicious.
The Manager Becky came out and talked to us. She was friendly and professional.

This is from couple of weeks ago: Very nice, chill place. Our first time here. We had fried pickles, very tasty, but a bit too greasy for me (I know, duh, they're fried, 😜 I'm just picky); downtowner fries-also yummy. Hubby had a steak with green beans and Mac &cheese - gave it all thumbs up. I had a seaside salad with blackened mahi - delicious 😋 The raspberry vinegarette dressing was amazing as well. All in all, great food, and great service! Hubby said no more Macalisters, from now on Downtowner is the place to go instead 😬

Paid $40 for a quarter inch thick steak that was burnt could hardly eat it they have better steaks at Waffle House very disappointed feel like I got ripped off bad will not be back sides were Bland only positive experience was my ranch with my side salad
