During the Hobbiton tour we stopped here for about 30 minutes after touring the movie set. Very good theming and they offered 3 alcoholic drink choices and 1 non-alcoholic. They had a dark beer, amber ale, hard cider and a non alcoholic ginger beer. We tried the hard cider and ginger beer and enjoyed both. They sell a variety of tempting snacks including scones, cookies, muffins and pies but we saved ourselves for Shire's Rest Cafe. They have a picture opportunity where you can put on some aprons, hats and a vest. This is also the only point in the Hobbiton set area where you can use the bathroom. The facilities are quite maintained and it is themed very well. If you book the evening tour you can have dinner here but it is an included stop in any of the tours at present. Due to the construction of a new attraction on the movie set they included a complimentary "Green Dragon Inn" schooner as an apology/thank you which is available for a limited time as of July 2023.

Took the lunch tour and couldn’t get over how amazing the experience was. We started with our tour. Our tour guide was absolutely fabulous and did earn so many brownie points by helping one of the elders in our group (thanks Dan). The best part was the banquet and the service and the chats. Meeting and chatting with the all the different people all’s of life was an absolute highlight for me. Looking forward to returning again always a fantastic experience heading to the shire ?

Apple cidar and ginger beer all brilliant. Food fine. Don't forget the dessert. A mug would be presented to you, though you might not as well take it away. All the enviroment appeared to be "ancient" and natural. Impressive and cool. 尽量去吃午餐啊，提前订票即可。可以订当地旅行团。我们订的bush and beach专做奥克兰与周边，10来个人一个大面包包车，在city的酒店门口接人，比较便利。

This was totally be a pub I'd visit most evenings after work to chill out with a beer and a great meal, if it was "real". If it was open to general public that's what I'd do! Very keen to do the tour again just to visit again.

The food served at lunch was a wonderful buffet spread. Not the sandwich & chips that I was expecting. A pleasant surprise.

We have been here many times but our latest experience wasn’t great . The inn has a great atmosphere, lovely wood fires , nice friendly staff but I am afraid the food let it down . The beef burger was cool , overcooked and tasted like rubber , stacked with over sized onions and old looking tomatoes and lettuce and a very small amount of cheese that you couldn’t taste . The plates were warm . The chips were underdone .. the Fish was too flaky didn’t feel fresh .. not great value for money .
Location, food and staff all were great. This was a spur of the moment visit that we absolutely enjoyed. We will be going again. The shop was also quite a refreshing experience compared to other shops of this ilk.

If you're looking for a traditional country pub with a roaring fire and oak beams that serves delicious food then look no further. This place deserves it's fine reputation, the staff are friendly and attentive and the Christmas decs are beautiful. We so enjoyed our lunch of turkey with all the trimmings and the lightest scrumptious Christmas pud. Ann, Paul and Sue.

Great experience. The Dragon is only available to people who take the tour. But there is a cafe at the beginning of the tour where we bought some yummy scones, muffins and hot chocolate.

A group of six of us from Cardiff regularly attend meetings at Cheltenham Racecourse . We usually travel up and back in the day but this year we decided to book into The Green Dragon for Saturday night. We had pre booked breakfast at the Inn to start the day. We were warmly welcomed by Nicky , Simon and the staff and enjoyed an extremely hearty breakfast with a comprehensive range of options. We can recommend the Full English the Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Egg and the very excellent Poached Eggs and Smashed Avocado. This fortified we only had to drive a few miles to the racecourse as the Inn is very conveniently located . On our return we were checked very efficiently in by the delightful Serena who later formed part of the bar and restaurant team that were to serve us with drinks and dinner. Despite the bars and the restaurant being very busy the service at dinner was very friendly and efficient. Menu choices were many and all our selections were delicious. Steak and Kidney Pudding being a particular hit. Our rooms were immaculately clean, warm and comfortable. It should be said that members of our party are shameless about making “ off menu” choices at breakfast . This was the case this morning but Nicky and her staff dealt with all these foibles without fuss or problem. We thoroughly recommend the Green Dragon to anyone travelling to this part of the country for any reason. We have already booked to return next year. (Particular thanks are due to Nicky and the staff for making the stay of one our party very comfortable as he was in the process of recovering from a back injury.)

This is a wonderful traditional country pub with a large warm fire always on the go, very good selection of beers but most of all friendly staff and superb fresh food. Would recommend booking a table though as they can be very busy particularly at weekends. For those interested in walking there are also a number of pleasant walks
