Stopped on a whim, after searching for restaurants. Travel this route about every other month and never searched this area. Man, have I been missing out! The food was good; the atmosphere was laid back and appears “local-friendly”. BUT, “Amanda #2” made us feel at home. Not only was she a great server, but she matched wits with my husband so well, he bought her a pack of meat sticks from the farm store. (The farm store is the amazing meat market below the restaurant.)...
My food was really good but it was small for $14, Everyone was super friendly but when we went to the shop to get a mug the guy told us he didn’t know how to use the cash register and to come back 4hrs later to maybe have someone there who knows how to work the register.
The atmosphere was good. Our service was good! My husband really enjoyed the brisket burger and fries. I liked the meatloaf but did NOT like the pink gravy/sauce on it or the rice. The rice was horrible. I feel if the pink sauce was replaced by brown gravy and rice was "regular " tasting rice. It would have been a much better dish. I will make modifications to meatloaf dish next time I go back.
