Wonderful food, great quality ingredients and a welcoming atmosphere. Our family has been here twice, the second time was to bring me so I could try it out. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Here's the skinny...

The fried green tomatoes and mushrooms are excellent. They are golden fried and have excellent flavors. The sauce that is provided, should you wish to add more flavor, is enough for two people easily. The roast beef poboy is dressed and delicious. I keep mentioning flavor because I feel that's what this establishment really nails. Nothing is over the top. The seasoning is balanced even with the addition of items like Wasabi. They are not trying to bury the quality of food, but enhance it.

The menu has variety, but also plenty of staple feel good options like burgers, poboys and salads. Leave room for dessert! The pineapple foster is amazing!

I truly appreciated how well lit the dining area is with natural lighting. I love being able to see my food and the colorful butterfly decorations really add to the cheery atmosphere. A lot of love and attention to detail is found here. I'll be returning.

La Mariposa was an excellent place to go eat. This is our third time visiting and it has been amazing every time. We travel from Jackson and the gumbo, po boys, and fried green tomatoes are worth the drive. The staff are friendly and welcoming! Mercedes, the owner, is exciting and such a beautiful individual

This place is AMAZING. They were very knowledgeable about gluten and we're able to help me navigate the menu. The food is high quality ingredients with all the special touches. The picture is of a gluten free dessert called a Pineapple Foster. Less than $6 and a gluten free persons dream come true. I cannot recommend this place enough. I will find any excuse in the future to stop when traveling through again. Thank you for one of the best meals I have ever had!

Order: Southern Cali Burger (with fried egg), Fries, Blueberry Margaritas

I had such a great experience at La Mariposa! I ordered the Southern Cali Burger and added a fried egg—honestly, it took the burger to the next level. The patty was juicy and flavorful, stacked with fresh toppings, and that runny egg just tied it all together perfectly. The fries on the side were hot, crispy, and seasoned just right—classic and satisfying.

The blueberry margaritas were the real star of the show, though. Bright, fresh, and not overly sweet—they had the perfect balance of fruitiness and kick. You could tell they were made with care and quality ingredients.

What made the visit even better was Mercedes, the owner. She was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole place feel warm and inviting. It’s clear she takes pride in both the food and the atmosphere.

All around, a great meal, great drinks, and genuinely kind hospitality. Can’t wait to go back to La Mariposa!
