I'm not sure about the other rolls, but the one I had was the deep sea shell roll, which used to be called the wasabi shell roll, and the calamari. The roll was just as I remember it, and the calamari is the best around here, hands down. I've tried to find it when they were closed; trust me, you cannot find it anywhere else but at Chef Scott's. Just know that it is an express place, so it's not designed to be a dine-in restaurant. That's not the experience you will get. Also, the food is served on paper plates and it's BYOB, so just be aware that it is not a fancy dining experience. But the food is absolutely amazing and worth the experience.

A simple spot, with simple amenities, but quick and polite service, more than fair pricing, and the main thing, the thing that keeps you coming back...utterly spectacular food. The best sushi on the coast, hands down.

The bad first because it's short and easy..... small place and service on Styrofoam plates is an injustice to good food. Then the good.... The food was very tasty! All the ingredients were top notch and fresh. The roll was not overly sauced like so many other places around. And the staff were awesome! The calamari was delicious and the shrimp tempura was very good too.

We are so happy Chef Scott opens his restaurant back and we have a chance to stop by on our trip. Highly recommended!
Food was disappointing & not tasty. We don't eat sushi so we had to look at other options of what we like. The choices are very limited. We took gyoza as appetizer. It was average. I aske&d the girl if the beef was tender & she said yes. We each had salad. They were good sizes but the ginger sauce was just average. We had teriyaki beef with veggies. The beef was not too tender & the taste was bland. Not very appealing. It was just plain rice. We prefer fried. The girl was pleasant & checked our table a few times which we appreciated. The food was just up to par as to what we expected. Taste was not even close to teriyaki, & it really lacked flavor. No reason to return. It's pricey as well & not worth the price at all.

I have LOVED Chef Scott’s for years! Every location and has always been my favorite. Never had a bad experience and food has always been delicious (hints why I always go back). However, this evening I placed a pickup order over the phone. Lady at counter was super nice, I paid and she said it will be just a few minutes on the order. Midway through I could tell something was off, tension wise. Myself and a family were the only ones in the restaurant. Chef started yelling at the front cashier and clearly it made everyone else uncomfortable (myself and the family). The lady had to walk away, after apologizing and saying sorry sir multiple times, to compose herself because she was clearly upset. It was like he kept throwing jabs and said at one point , “I thought you were smarter than that.” Was really uncomfortable. Order was ready and she apologized for the delay, I told her it’s not a problem, thank you. Idk, the whole situation was very uncomfortable overall.

You ever eat at a place while you're traveling and end up sitting there thinking "man, my hookup back home isn't nearly as good as I thought it was"?Yeah, eating at Chef Scott's will do that to you.

Wanted to try out this place after hearing such great reviews… sat there for an hour before going to pay and asking to get our food to go. Our $40 somehow came up on our bill as $59. Obviously, I asked HOW?! The girl said they charge a 17% service fee. WHAT. This was not disclosed anywhere on the menu. The owner (I guess) told her that it’s only for large orders or whatever so she refunded us in cash. Still shady, and I’m so sure they’ve done this to other customers who may not have asked questions. Sushi was disappointing, too. Even the specialty roll the chef threw in. Go somewhere else!
