Let me start by saying I have been raving about this restaurant since I started eating there a couple of years back. I have even been recommending this restaurant to a lot of people. Your plates used to be over flowing and could feed two people out of them. The plates according to their website and Facebook come with a drink and dessert. Which brings us to today. I called to place my order ahead of time so I wouldn't have to wait long.... WRONG !!! I waited an hour!! When I got there I gave the server my name. She said she would be right with me. Understandably, they are busy. I had to tell the young lady about 4 times my order. Ok... you guys are busy and you are the only person working service. Then I had to tell you my drink order 3 times. She cashed me out and I waited at least an hour for my 2 all sides plate. We didn't get dessert even though it is complimentary. The website doesn't specify plates which is 1 meat and 2 veggies. I found that out today. I've been getting a complimentary dessert on every other meal . I've had a couple occasions where I wasn't given my complimentary drink. When asked where it was I was told it doesn't come with the meal. There is no consistency. Each server do something different. I posted pictures of my plate before I ate a bite. I understand food costs go up especially since the upgrades but dang there is no consistency. It's ok. I pray you have continued success but you have lost several customers out of my family and friends. I ate all the rice and gravy. The greens were not tender as they normally are. Only at a fraction of those. The Mac and cheese was so so. The extra cheese that was in the Mac wasn't melted. The vegetables that were in the dressing were crunchy. Basically the entire plate was wasted. Your food use to be my spot but now......done baby.

we stopped for the meat and 3 sides. extra hot. crispy 3 full size thighs, plus rice and flavorful brown gravy, purple hull peas smothered down, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans all with cornbread. including a dessert and tea plus mints. Superior, friendly service in a very clean restaurant. we will be back for great home style cooking. other meats (turkey wings, meatloaf, smothered pork... and veggies were available.

Hello, the welcoming customer service is on point, so friendly and cares about the customers.I ordered the smothered pork chops, which comes with rice and my 2 sides were Mac and cheese and collards, the chops are tender yet delicious, the collards was so good I didn't even need hotsauce,the Mac and cheese was also good but a kinda spicy,.....and you also get a free dessert ?.......definitely recommend this place and will always stop by whenever I'm in town.

This was the best soul food I've had in a while! I had the smothered pork chops with field/snap peas and collard greens. It was seasoned to perfection! Oh and the LEMONADE! I could drink it by the gallon! It was SO delicious! The service was the owners daughter and she was super sweet. She made the atmosphere very hospitable and I can tell she takes the time to get to know her customers! 10/10 recommend!

I can't rave about this place enough!! From the moment you walk in, you feel like family. Shakur, was so friendly and welcoming. She gave a fantastic story about the resteraunt and told us the history. Everything was made to order. I had the wings , greens and fried okra, I had Shakur pick my sides, the okra was the best I've ever had. I also got a pork Chop and it didn't disappoint. The banana pudding was delicious as was the homemade pecan candy.Everything and I mean everything thing was fantastic!Only thing that was disappointing, is the fact that I'll most likely never get back here to eat their delicious food , anytime in the near future!Thank you for everything!
We are so very thankful for Nana J and her team! We look forward to her meals on Thanksgiving. You can taste the love and soul she puts into everything 10/10. I’m not a fan of mac and cheese but I’ll gobble hers and go for seconds. Also, very generous portions. We always have leftovers, which tastes even better the next day.
