If you have made your way to Osyka, MS, any local can direct you to The Burger Basket! The unique thing about this hometown restaurant is the family atmosphere. It is like coming to the table for supper. The menu has a variety of items from breakfast foods to ribeye steaks. Locals can pick-up their daily plate lunches, and the line at the cashier gets quite long at noon. A crowd from near and far are common. Special night offers are Wednesday for Spaghetti, Thursday for Fried Fish and Friday is Steak Night. The servings are hefty and reasonably priced. The restaurant originally owned and operated by the late Nyla Price, began as a walk- up and order style place on main street. As her business grew by leaps and bounds, she moved the restaurant to its current location. It was known as Britney Spears’ favorite restaurant when she would come home with the paparazzi following her. Although The Burger Basket is famous for that fact, it is the locals that make it famous by word of mouth. Tonight, my son and his fiancée offered to take me and dad out for spaghetti – an offer you cannot refuse. My son and his daddy chose the fried fish plate, and the fiancée and I chose the famous spaghetti. Sorry no pics of the food, as we were finished eating and licked the plate before I thought about it. It was all very good, and the chocolate cookie cream pie was perfect! The new owners are doing an outstanding job keeping the quality and atmosphere going and as a local I appreciate that fact. I recommend a trip to check it out! The hamburger and fries are the icon item to select or browse the menu for other options.

What a great little hidden gem. My husband and I were stopping through on a drive cross country. The staff was friendly and incredibly helpful. I accidentally spilled some gravy on the ground and they jumped right in to help me out. The same southern hospitality I was used to growing up. If I ever pass through again, I’ll 100% be back.

Had the fried catfish with cajun seasoned fries. The fish was CLEAN, so tender and perfectly seasoned!! The fries... let me just say I'm not a fan of French fries. I can tolerate them if there's a brown gravy... but these were not ordinary French fries. They were fresh! Fresh cut, dropped fresh but not before they coat it like fried chicken. I had no idea I loved chicken fried French fries lol!!! Service was pleasant and on point. Prices were great!! Thank you Chelsey for such great service!!

I was recommended this location by some article on the internet. My wife and I dropped by on our way back from New Orleans. I'd heard the burgers were good and it definitely was good burger but my wife had a ribeye steak and it was delicious. It was nice and buttery. I also had the mozzarella sticks which were unlike any I've had before. They were really good too. My wife had the fried brussel sprouts and she really enjoyed them. We will definitely be stopping by again next time. The night before we went to a fancy place in New Orleans near the quarter and this place puts it to shame. Great job!!
