As a traveller, I wanted a combination of soup food, a local "taste" (as opposed to chain restaurant) and friendly atmosphere. At Mississippi's Finest I scored on all levels. Muss Eleanor and Brother Ray were wonderful and went extra mile. I went on Monday and returned Wednesday. My only regret was having to leave town. Thanks for the food and memories! Love ya, Kathy.

We were just passing through on our way to Baton Rouge and found this wonderful restaurant. Everything was perfect and the owner kept checking to see that we were happy, and we were. The fried chicken was great as were all the side dishes.

Y’all, I’m here to tell you that the food here is SLAMMIN.’ Bear in mind that I am a food snob so my opinion of a “hole in the wall” being phenomenal should count for a lot! If you had a grandma that did homestyle old timey southern cooking well this little lady is your grandma from another mother! The fried chicken and the rice and gravy was some of the best I have ever eaten. The folks were nice and the place was clean. Best of all, my husband and I left full for twenty bucks!

We stumbled across this spot whilst doing the Natchez trace parkway (visiting from Australia). The hospitality was second to none and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything we ate was delicious but special mention for the key lime pie! Definitely stop by if you are nearby

Delicious fried chicken, cabbage, yams, cornbread and coconut cake- all so good. Very friendly staff and excellent service. Very reasonable prices.

The baked chicken was not baked. It was more stewed and not seasoned well. The rice and gravy was awful. Nothing had a good taste and the tea was stale. Afterwards, I understand why no one was there at lunchtime but us. Never going back to eat there again. I ordered to go.

We stopped here for a late lunch and had a very good, home-cooked meal! Favorites were the fried chicken, corn, yams, pecan pie, and pretty much everything! It was a comfortable place to stop during our travels and the owner, server, cook, and other patrons were very welcoming and friendly! Definitely a gem in the area!
