Food was good. But they only had 1 cook and 1 waitress. We were the only ones in there other than one old man and the waitress spent more time flirting with him than tending to us. We had to beg for all our drinks. It was filthy in there already at 5:30 in the morning. The bathrooms were disgusting. We held it and went on up the road to a gas station to let the kids use the restrooms.
They were busy as I walked in, but I was still greeted by the waitress with “welcome to Waffle House, my name is Christy, will it be dine-in or carry out!” It gave the place a “hometown” vibe and I felt comfortable. I watched as they took orders and as the waitress passed, she took my drink order and had a fresh hot pot of coffee brewing. As busy as they were, customers were taken care of efficiently, without complaint. I ordered steak & eggs, med well steak, eggs...
My only complaint is that the restroom had no soap or soap dispenser. The employees looked like they did, so that is the important part, but it would have been nice to use soap and not my pocket hand sanitizer.
