I went on down to the local fish joint exspecting some top tier catfish and some good service, I did end up with that mouth watering cat but the service….. they didn’t even spit in my food when I asked them, they said I can’t have a toddlers chair because I am too old (im 35 BTW). So in conclusion if you want some life altering cat and pups come on down but if you want to have some actual service I’d go to waffle house

Heard great reviews on Charlexis, but after visiting will NEVER return, ordered two meals, “All You Can Eat Catfish FILETS” and a ribeye with baked potato. Waitress returned to say they had no potatoes, but could put a red potato together. The catfish turned out to be bellies which were no meat and all breading, very oily! They brought more out, after asking for “ filets” and it was the same. So after consuming a tablespoon of catfish crust, my partner left with me to pay the bill. My medium ribeye (I usually order medium-rare) and thankfully, I ordered medium because there were some very rare sections. ( I carried it home to cook later and give the potatoes to the dogs). Sorry to say, this was not an enjoyable evening out and a meal that lasted all of 10 minutes. Very expensive for a very poor meal. If you are visiting from out of state, venture to a larger city to receive a meal, ambience and good quality food because Charlexis doesn’t cut it with catfish or steak, but oil and grease!!!

I had my wife to pick me a plate up this evening at Charles and when I opened my place I said WTF🤬🤬😡😡 4 medium size shrimp and 4 lil oysters a baked potato the size of a goose egg and 2 hush puppies for $14,99 NOW THAT'S HIGHWAY ROBBERY AT THE LEAST

Tried the steak and I'll stick to the fish. Ribeye was ok. Have eaten here a few times never got the steak (and never will again) ordered with bake potato with bacon and cheese got six bacon bits and a pinch of cheese. I asked for their hush puppies as they are to die for but was told I couldn't get them even if I payed for them. I had already went to see if they were on menu cashier said I could get some for like $3 to $5. I didn't argue with the waitress and cashier ask did I get my hush puppies I said no she got me 5 or 6 To go. She got my $10 tip I told her it was hers not the waitress but do as she wished with it. Waitress was slow on drinks and there were only three tables with like 4 waitress. There was no excuse. They stayed in the kitchen door and were talking most of the night. I will say this was the only bad experience we have had. Bring cash or use ATM inside. Only deal in cash.

The fish were very small pieces and we paid high $$$.Our (me and husband) fish had a rancid taste. The taste from the gray part of the fish. It was all you could eat so we got some more hoping it would be better, they looked like they cooked the trimmings, the taste was not any better. Want go back.

This was my first time to visit here. Some of the best hushpuppies. Catfish was great not to salty. She loved the coleslaw. Price was good for the all you can eat catfish. It was 18.99 and well worth it to me. Sorry the photos are taken on the refills not the first plate.
