The food is really good, and that’s what matters most. This isn’t a fancy place, but it’s authentic and very local, which adds to its charm. The blackened catfish was well seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the Rotel fries were a fun, unexpected, and delicious discovery. A great combination and a spot that feels genuinely rooted in the community.

We came from Tampa, FL to visit family and we ALWAYS stop by this lovely place for some fried catfish, hushpuppies and great potato salad. Also love the greens and your brown rice! Can't leave without having a cobbler with ice cream!!! Wonderful service -kindness is a southern treat as it is everywhere here! May God continue to bless you, Taylor's. ...PS...also witnessed them giving a free $50 meal to go to a Firefighter picking up and said 'it's on us, thank y'all for all you do!' 🙏 ❤️

Just a short drive from Oxford, MS, Taylor Grocery is the place to come for catfish! Very much a small town atmosphere. The catfish came out seasoned and fried to perfection. It had a golden crust that kept the fish moist and flaky. Turnip greens were also really good. Highly recommend!

Super cool hidden gem to grab a bit to eat. The place looks frozen in time!!! there’s a line out the door all night so come early.

Excellent down-home food, in a genuine rustic old country store. Delicious down-home cooking. Fair prices. The fried catfish is their signature dish, & everything else is delicious, too.

Love the catfish and all the sides. Fried okra and the Turnip greens are our favorite. Walked right in and we're seated. Come early or you will be waiting a while for a table. Open Thurs-Sun.

This is our second year to use Taylor Grocery for Ole Miss tent tailgating and once again it was a great experience. The online ordering and the convenient pickup location make tailgate planning so easy! Food use ready at our noted time and was super delicious!

The owner is absolutely the rudest woman, should not be running a business. I took my elderly mother to dinner. We were there at opening and seated in first wave of people. The restaurant was full. The owner kept walking by our table giving us dirty looks after 45 minutes of waiting for our food. I’m not sure but I think she thought we had eaten and were holding up the table. I saw her speak to our waitress and then starts walking back to the front. She suddenly stops, looks at my mother, and loudly and rudely says to her, why are you shaking your head? I was like excuse me. She said someone has to be last! I was so embarrassed as surrounding tables I’m sure thought we had been complaining. I responded we weren’t complaining or doing anything, I think the appropriate thing for her to say is, I’m sorry for your wait. Been coming here for years, she’s always been rude whenever she was there, but not to this extent. Won’t ever go back. The food is not good enough to have to tolerate this treatment, and based on other reviews it”s a recurring problem.

Terrible customer service! The owner was extremely rude and unwilling to make reasonable accommodations. It is a true miracle that this place stays in business with Nurse Ratched running the joint!
Great staff . Have a verity of novelty items, cold beer, ding ding machines and gas.

⚠️ BEWARE the Owner at Taylor Grocery ⚠️
I have never had a more rude restaurant experience. The owner—let’s call her “Karen”— had a highly neurotic outburst simply because we pulled up an extra chair for a guest who was running late. She screamed “get out… get out!” and “rules are rules!” in front of the entire dining room, creating an embarrassing and uncomfortable scene. It was so extreme that even the waitresses quietly apologized to us for her behavior.
Save yourself the trouble—there are plenty of restaurants where the food is good and you won’t be screamed at by a Karen in charge.

Imagine paying good money to be screamed at — that’s the business model here. Forget hospitality; this place runs on hostility. The owner doesn’t greet you, they berate you. Ask a simple question about the menu? Boom — you’re public enemy #1.
It honestly felt like a bad dinner-theater knockoff of Seinfeld’s Soup Nazi episode, except without the comedy or the soup. “No food for you!” might as well be the house motto. The only thing missing was the laugh track.
The food is fine, but isn’t anywhere near good enough to justify being treated like garbage. Restaurants are supposed to be welcoming, not a boot camp run by Gordon Ramsay’s angrier cousin.
If you want a miserable evening, go ahead and book a table. Otherwise, take your money to literally any other place where the staff remembers the golden rule: customers come to eat, not to be yelled at.
Worst customer service of any restaurant I’ve been to.

Would have given 5 stars . But the bs about waiting for our kids to get there before we could be seated is not good. We wanted to sit and order apitizers.
