Big Daddy's Soul Food

My crew and I were working in the area and stumbled across this gem. We had folks from all over the US and I’m so proud they got a taste of southern hospitality. The owner/operators were always kind and made us feel like we were at home. The food is unbelievably delicious. REAL soul food. This is a true Delta experience and I recommend anyone traveling US Highway 49E or MS-12 stop by and say hello. Try the cake!

After a days long of riding through the 662 area we decided to put some food places in our GPS and we ended up running into Big Daddy's and got a surprise full of good old southern home cooked food. signed our name on the wall and planning for a return soon!

Fantastic food and the nicest lady behind the counter! We had ribs and they were so tender you can pull the bone out and tasted wonderful! All the sides were great! We had the green beans, spaghetti, collard greens, baked beans and candied yams! More food than we knew what to do with. Drinks were sweet tea and Kool-Aid, GET the Kool-Aid!! 100% will go back is we are ever in the area!!

Warm hospitality and great food!

If you are looking for the best BBQ and soul food, this place is the only place you should go. The ribs were the most tender that I have ever had and they were very meaty, not just bones. The baked beans are loaded with ground meat and are very flavorful. We were given free samples of potato salad and rib tips - they were excellent. My daughter loved the loaded chicken -- the serving was so big that she ate it for three nights in a row. The servings were huge -- you won't go away hungry. The candied yams for dessert were amazing. If you are choosing between the cabbage greens and the turnip greens, the turnip greens have more flavor. Adding their homemade pepper sauce improved the flavor of the cabbage greens. Big Daddy and Barbara were so friendly -- we felt like we had been invited into their home as long-time friends. We pulled into the driveway and they came out to the door to wave us into the restaurant. By the time we were done with our meal, we were taking pictures with them. My teenage daughter almost started crying when we left because they were so welcoming and friendly. She said that she wanted to start keeping a list of restaurants that she wanted to return to sometime in her life and this would be the only restaurant on that list. It is worth driving a couple hours for this outstanding meal.
