I was a student here in 2010 and the food was terrible. I'm back now as a faculty/staff member and have eaten at the Rebel Market several times and I am so pleased with how different and better everything is. Previous experiences left me very hesitant to try again because the staff were always rude and the food was subpar, but since my return I have found it to be the opposite. They seem like they've really taken into consideration what people have complained about and turned this place around. The executive chef was really knowledgeable about where their ingredients are from (local beef and pork) and the processes of how they cook everything. I had a philly cheese steak from the grill section and it was great. I bought a meal plan so I can eat there more often and not have to leave campus.

Really just the worst dining hall ever. The meat is always some gross twisted version of the regular thing. I just wish they like kept something the same every day. Like if they had drumsticks every day that would be very nice because than I can get in a consistent amount of protein everyday, but instead they change it to like roasted lamb chops that feel like your biting into a two inch thick piece of rubber. Like why do they do this. And then they replaced all the grilled chicken with diced ham in the salad bar halfway through the semester. That diced ham sits there untouched every single day and is always thrown out at the end of the day. If thats not reason enough to get rid of the ham than I don’t know what is. The pizza is the only good thing and yet it’s still extremely inconsistent with some pies coming out so poorly made that it just sits there for half an hour untouched. I’m very aware that every university has to make price cuts somewhere, but I’m not going to lie ole miss better prepare for the up and coming record breaking classes especially if they want to advocate for students out of state because I’m from up north and this place is such a step down from anywhere up there. I saw other people reporting on how the staff were rude and obnoxious but honestly, I get it. I mean they’re working a minimum wage job serving college students all day long it must get so boring and annoying, but they don’t bother me as I’m purely writing this review based on food quality. They also close this place from 1 pm to 4 pm daily which is probably the most outlandish part of it. Why in gods name are we closing the only food dining hall on campus during PEAK lunch hours. 1 pm, 2pm, 3pm are all peak lunch hours and you’re telling me I’m gonna have to wait 3 hours if I want something somewhat affordable. Get out of here dude.

The food is alright-- it's the exact quality you'd expect from a dining hall. The workers are lovely. The real problem is the lack of options. The food that is served is meat-heavy. There is always something fried and often few vegetable choices. It's hard to get a balanced diet. If you're a vegetarian, forget about it. The station that is meant to have vegetarian options never does no matter what time you get there. That leaves you with the option to eat from the salad bar or a FRIED black bean burger. I don't mind this, but I can't eat salad 7 days a week for every meal. It's a 2 star--the options that are there are doable, but it could be a lot better with more intention.

Really good options for the value. Food quality is good and better than fast food or a typical school cafeteria. It is best to go before 3pm for most options.

Dietary restrictions: Every dietary need can be met.

Parking: Parking isn't available unless its a weekend or past 6pm

The Farmstand Foodtruck is operated by Ole Miss Dining. It is located on campus near Rebel Market. Today I had the Creole Beans and Greens Soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. The soup is made with collard greens from Native Son Farm, an organic farm in Tupelo. It also contains great northern beans and andouille sausage. The grilled cheese dipped in the soup was nothing short of amazing! Try this food truck out when you are on campus. You want be disappointed!

Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options on certain days.

The worst place ever.Im a college student at Ole Miss. I decide to go to the cafeteria before class. Im extremely hungry. I saw the rebel market was open and close by.I go to rebel market and see the sign says open at 7am. It way passed that time. I see other students walk pass the lady at front. Soon as I walked in wearing a student badge id, she is very rude. Shes asking me what I want and why Im here. Im thinking to myself you didnt grill the other students why you bothering me. I told her, I was walking around to find food. She told me she couldnt let me in until I paid. When I say I was in disbelief thats not all of it.. I said well wheres the vending. She told me to go downstaris. As I went downstaris the vending machines had no options. None at all. Then I saw it was a sushi place. I walk over to the sushi place which is by the vending machines. Im just looking at the itemsand out of no where the workers tell me I cant look because they not open. Like wth? When I say the staff is rude they are so rude they should be fired. I will never walk into that place again as long as Im at Ole Miss.

Zero complaints! Tons of choices and great food! A little loud, but that's because everyone is there for some good grub!
