Today was some of us ladies day!!! @ gentleman .The council House restaurant did not disappoint!!! Over all friendly and respectful hospitality, if you haven’t been you are missing a fantastic meal. From Philadelphia, Miss.

Had to eat outside in the knats biting. Ants kept biting my sandalled feet. The so call Hamburger steak was 2 hard packed left over from lunch Hamburger patties with gravy poured over them. Bread was stale, cole slaw was ruined(old and soured). We didnt get the condiments till meal was over. We had been there a couple of years before and had enjoyed it so we drove a 2 hr. Round trip for this garbage, wont be back !

This place was so adorable. I was sad when the food we got reminded me of bar food.

The food, service and atmosphere was great. An unexpected surprise in a very out of the way location.

We arrived to French Camp on a Saturday evening - knowing that Council House was our only option for a restaurant. It didn't disappoint! I ordered the Toasted Pimento Cheese Sandwich with a side salad. My husband ordered the roast beef po boy with fries. Both were good! and just the right amount of food for dinner. We also had the cheese curds for an appetizer. Desserts were Mississippi mud cake and lemon icebox pie - OH SO GOOD!

I took my mother there in early June. The wait staff are kind and responsive. I ordered a roast beef half sandwich and small salad but it was disappointing. The broccoli salad was excellent but the serving was only about a half cup, not much for the money. My sandwich was made of paper thin cold cuts, on toast, not real sliced beef. That was disappointing. But the worst thing was the flies in the dining room. They were outrageous. I had to fight flies off mine and my mothers food the whole time. Dozens of flies buzzed our table landing on our drink glass, and food. It was disgusting. I couldn't enjoy the meal because of the flies. There are no air curtains on the doors and apparently there are conditions around the building that attract flies. I won't return without a can of Black Flag spray on my table.

The management was talking badly about customer's. I thought it was rude and these customer's were being polite and tipped very well.

Service was Awesome and Food was delicious! Highly recommend ultimate burger, fries, onion rings and cheese curds. It was surreal to be eating at the council house that our Ancestor Great Grand Uncle Choctow Chief Greenwood LeFlore held council!

While staying nearby, we decided to try this restaurant for an early dinner. The staff were very friendly and the building is a charming historic site with indoor or outdoor seating. We enjoyed our burgers and onion rings - I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying near French Camp!

Nice place right on the Trace, we were on our bicycles and there aren't many places close to the trace like this. Food is good and the atmosphere is top notch. When we were there it took a long time to get our food which would be my only complaint but in today's economy you have to expect that sometimes. Overall a nice value/experience.

portions were VERY SMALL compared to the price. Food is considerably over priced. Had to ask for refills each time, entree did not come out with everything listed on the menu.

Passing through while on motorcycles heading to Texas via back roads.WHAT A GREAT SPOT!!Stopped for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. Excellent, quaint, and quiet spot in what felt like the middle of nowhere. Service was excellent, can't remember the waitress's name, though. I had the BLT and my buddy had the prime rib sandwich. My BLT was delicious with plenty of B, L & T! My buddy enjoyed his sandwich and bread pudding. We both agree we'd stop again, in a heartbeat, if we ever pass through French Camp on the Trace in the future. The delicious lunch provided us with just the right amount of calories to make it to Natchez that evening.
