My husband was hunting in the area, and we needed a place to stay. He is from Phillipsburg and knows the area. We decided to stay at The Lakehouse at Georgetown as it is only 7 miles from where he hunts.
When we arrived, we were greeted with smiles, and how can we help? The lounge/restaurant staff are wonderful. We didn't see any room service staff as they don't clean the room while it is occupied. We only stayed for 2 nights, so this may be different for longer stays.
The room was clean and tidy. A gas room furnace is the heat source, and when checking in, we were told that if the pilot light went out to call immediately. It is not a modern room, but it was only used to sleep in. I do feel the price for the room is a bit high for what it offers. However, it does sleep 4.
Would we stay here again? Yes, I do believe we would. We really like that it is locally owned.

We went in on a Sunday afternoon for a beverage, and Cassandra greeted us with a big smile. The service was fantastic. Thank you!

No hot water, nasty carpet, no hairdryer
Food and staff are great! one of our favorites ❤
The service is awesome. The staff that we interacted with were incredibly helpful and friendly. The location was perfect for visiting our friends at Georgetown Lake. The room had minor issues - plug in the bathroom didn’t work, but it was very clean and roomy. Overall a fantastic value.

Great place to stop at for dinner after a day on the lake, or a day skiing.
Nearby activities: Georgetown lake is JUST around the next corner. Discovery Basin Ski area is up the hill from the lake.
Food & drinks: Fantastic food whenever I have eaten there. Full bar with some local microbrews.

I love that they are pet friendly as I travel with 2 small dogs, but I wish my room had looked like the ones in the pictures. So glad I had flip flops because I refused to walk barefoot on the nasty carpet. The room smelled when I first walked in so I immediately opened all the windows. The shower was a little difficult to navigate as there was little adjustment to keep the water flow from hitting me directly in the face unless I directed it to the wall. A TV on the room would be nice too. Food was good at the restaurant and the staff was terrific. Cass is a gem and the owners should do whatever it takes to keep her around. She was very helpful and accommodating. I would come back to the restaurant but don’t think I would ever book another room unless some improvements are made.

Perhaps the greatest place in America for refreshments and great service.

Located near Georgetown Lake, the restaurant is very convenient. The menu has many items for the hungry traveler.

Husband and I wanting 2 day stay to visit the area.
Staff was very friendly at check-in.
In the room...website pics really glorify a room that was VERY LESS THAN CLEAN!
Large stains on carpet.
Could have written my name in the dust on furniture and picture frames.
Dog hair on bedding.
Human hair in bathroom..NOT FROM
THE HEAD!!
NO cleaning services or clean towels.
We chose to grit our teeth and bare it!
Our mistake for being so passive in this situation due to such little time for our mini vacation.
Overview..friendly staff to take the cash..THEN, YOUR ON YOUR OWN.
I will ask not to be attacked by owners as in previous posts as this review has NOTHING to do with us, but the lack of
professionalism on the business.

Over priced! 1950's possibly 60's decor with fresh paint. Room smelt of gas upon entering. Furnace was not lit and pilot had gone out. After 2 requests handy man did get it lit. Rug was worn, stained and torn in 2 places. DO NOT go by website pictures! Menu was barely a good sandwich selection. If price was $60-75 would have been about right. Certainly not a $138 room! For the one night my son and I spent there, it did suffice. As an over the road trucker I have spent nights in some fairly " shabby" hotels. This one ranked about half way.
