I’m so thrilled about the beaded shoes I purchased at the campground office. After seeing the cutest pair of beaded shoes I wasn’t able to purchase them till months later. When I went to the cafe for breakfast I asked about them and the staff was so nice they unlocked the campground office for me and I was finally able to own them. I absolutely love and adore them. Thank you again Leaning Tree. See you next summer!

Bad food and the M&M'S were old. I've had better hot pockets from the Seven Eleven late night early mornings.

cannot say enough good things about this campground. a bit tight and cozy but impeccable facilities (warm, clean, spacious bathroom, the best showers ever)

cabins are amazing. everything was above par for the price.

camp host is a bit difficult to get a hold of but if you ask around you can find her home right there on the campground and just knock on her door

Toilets: the best restrooms you will find in glacier NP

Dog-friendliness: there are rez dogs running around, super friendly and adorable but your dog must also be friendly and sociable

Stayed here in our 17’ a-liner camper for 6 nights starting 9/25/24. It’s a quite small wonderful campground and cafe plus a handful of small cabins. It’s one of my all-time favorite campgrounds. The sites are pretty grassy with some gravel, they’re big enough, there are a scattering of aspens (GOLDEN right now)and some conifers along the back. A good mix of sun and shade. The restrooms have been recently updated and they are beautiful—clean, stylish, lots of natural wood, and the showers are bigger than mine at home. All the fixtures sparkle. There is a clean comfy laundry room, a dishwashing and wood-walled sauna ( for $10). At night small solar lights provide for safe walking and ambiance. The cafe is small and seems to be a bit of a hub—everyone friendly and helpful. There is no Rez dog issue at all—3 very calm dogs stay close to the cafe and wander once daily minding their own business. I highly recommend Leaning Tree!

stayed 9/2024. very clean and wholesome experience, which was a great start for my groups hikes in GNP. I felt safer there with the campgrounds host than staying in the GNP camps. strongly recommend for a rustic camp, with all the perks (clean full size bathrooms, showers, sauna, restaurant, etc)

I stayed in a tent from 9/5/24 to 9/7/24. It is a great base camp for accessing the East side og GNP.
I have read a lot of reviews from people criticizing the "packs of dogs" "cold showers" and road noise. I am writing this review to let people know that yes there are what are known as "Rez Dogs". They run free and are not mean. If you have spent any time on or around a Reservation you will be familiar with them. It is almost a fixture at every Rez I have ever been to and honestly I enjoyed their morning visits looking to share some scrambled egg. I also appreciate the barking because they let me know when bears were nearby (which there was one that the camp host kept a close eye on and communicated personally with the campers about the situation) If you have dogs and don't want the Rez Dogs visiting, just shoo them away and keep you pet's food put away (which should be done anyway because of bears)
Next, the hot water for both mens and women' showers is run off of one very large water heater. If you wait until after everyone in the campground has showered you will get a cool shower. This seems like common sense to me. If you want a hot shower, get your butt in there before other campers.
Road noise was annoying but I will say that it dies down overnight while you sleep. I am a very light sleeper and I wasn't woke up once by road noise.
But I stayed at Avalanche and Apgar campgrounds later and they were no quieter and I had to put up with a group of campers' axe throwing game all flippin night completely ruining the peace.
I will say that the owners have made a very nice effort planning their facility. For the price, I was pleased to find such a lovely bathroom and shower facility. A laundry center, dish washing station and even a pay per use sauna! When I finished the Avalanche Overlook hike from Many Glacier Hotel (11.3 miles and over 2000' elevation gain) I was so relieved to take a hot shower and have a giant scoop of mint chip ice cream from the general store! I was in heaven! Marcus is an awesome and accommodating host. Prices in the store are so reasonable and they stock all the essentials that you may have forgotten at home - including bear spray!
I will be back. I enjoyed this more than my GNP campgrounds. Better amenities and the same low price. People need to really be more realistic with expectations and appreciate the thoughtfulness that went into this campground.
Thank you Marcus for being a great host!

Small and secluded RV Park that was perfect for us. The gentleman at the cafe was very nice and informative. Showers are very nice and clean.

We made reservations for this site online. When we arrived there wasn't any staff on site and no one was in the office building. There was a number on the front door, so we tried calling that but no one answered and the voicemail wasn't even set up. We walked around and talked to other guests staying at the site, and they said no one was here when they arrived either and to just pick an open spot. So we did. No staff showed up for the remainder of the day/evening, so we were unable to get a password for WiFi since no one was here and nothing was posted. We also were never able to check in.

The campground itself is tiny. The entire property appears to be less than 1 acre. Camp sits are stacked on top of each other with no privacy. The RV next to us was literally 6 feet away from ours. The facilities are junky/dirty and appear to be poorly maintained.

The following morning we carried a bag of trash up to the front and went to place it in a trash bin by the front office, and at that point someone did emerge from the front office and rudely told us not to put our trash there. This was the one and only time we saw and interacted with any staff on site.

We promptly left and went to another campground. There are many options for camping and RV's in this area. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place

Had the pleasure to stay there Aug. 31- Sept. 1 of 2024.
It's a nice little campground not too far from St-Mary and the famous Going To The Sun Road entry gate. Washrooms / Showers looked new and clean. There's also a sink to wash dishes, a laundromat and a nice sauna!
I will definitely come back.

While I was quite nervous after reading some of the reviews I was thankfully super surprised. I was mostly concerned about the “pack” of dogs, I saw maybe 3 and they were friendly and went away when I told them to “go home”. Shower water was cold if you showed after 7pm but any time before that they were great. Our fire place and picnic table were on the wrong side of our camper but again not something that was an issue. Make sure to bring an extension cored adaptor to plug into a regular plug in.
Every person I ran into was super friendly and we had a great stay.

Stayed for two nights this August 2024. Nice little campground that was quiet. Huge kudos for the lovely bathrooms and great showers. Very clean. Very nice. I would definitely stay again.

Good place to stay if you don’t mind the pack of dogs that are human friendly but not dog friendly. They attacked my dog and refused to do anything about it. Didn’t even offer to pay for my having to wash the blood out of our sheets. They also will jump up on your car wanting a pet but scratching up the paint on your car.

When booking this campsite, the amenities and proximity to Glacier NP were a huge plus. However, if you plan on coming here to use the amenities, be prepared for a cold shower, inefficient laundry services, and camp hosts that are nowhere to be found for assistance. The restaurant was also only open one day, limited hours, out of a 4 night stay. Check-in was unprofessional and lacked the wholesome Montana welcome. The camp being next to a highway road was noisy and the “neighborhood” dogs were loud but friendly (and we’re dog people). They barked throughout the night with no owner intervention. Additionally the people who live on the property (maybe the hosts?) were rather inconsiderate of the campers by doing excessive yard work/landscaping from 6-8pm on a Friday night, and going in and out every night after 10pm with multiple cars/ATVs. Needless to say it was lacking the peaceful, quiet vibe everyone hopes to have while camping.
