Lovely hotel. HOWEVER, if you are a single traveler, DO NOT show up on a Sunday. They are closed and they have no problem letting you know how other many guests will be there, which feels a bit unsafe. Not to mention that we all have access to everyones room keys in the lock boxes out back. First red flag. My toilet would not flush and I had to call multiple numbers multiple times until someone finally answered. I was moved to a larger room that they called an upgrade. Yay! However, after the maintenance guy left, I realized there was no a/c in the room and it was quite warm out. After a restless night of sleep, I left at 5am. I knew that the restaurant would be closed but didn’t realize that meant no one would be at the hotel. I had high hopes for this beautiful place. Next time, I’ll drive the extra 30 minites to town.
The good was exceptional. The Buffalo steak was well done perfectly. Every thing was delicious. The service was impeccable due to Rio. He was on top of everything and his recommendations were spot on.
Great food!
Sat at the bar and had THE BEST MEAL! Bison ribeye cooked to perfection. Rachel waited on us. She never stopped smiling. Met the owner and her two friends. Had great conversation. Loved everything about this place.
I stopped here as it was one of my fav places to stop and have lunch or dinner over the years. Always had the best rack of lamb. Had a pork belly but today. My friend had the lamb burger. But we're delishes. I had a lam stew as my side. Was fantastic. We used to come here for Easter Sunday buffet. Stayed at hotel always. Definitely one of those local secrets. This is Montana sheep country and you dont get better lamb than these sagebrush nibbling lambs.
Food is very good as well as the staff
Jewel of a find! Great food, service personnel and live entertainment when we visited. Rooms, as anticipated are a bit quaint but clean and comfortable. Pet friendly.
We had lunch here today after they just re-opened their restaurant with a new menu
It took almost a whole hour to receive our lunch which was a burger and sandwich ( pulled pork barley warm) fries were cold and extremely over seasoned with salt - so inedible, and looking at other tables no one was eating the fries - 2/10, Wait staff friendly - yes we should have complained but the average age of the staff was maybe less than 21… we were looking forward to revisiting this establishment but sadly disappointed not up to par as our last visit was
The waiter was very entertaining!
Historic hotel in beautiful location

I'm very sorry to say that the Grand is not what it used to be. This past week, my wife and I checked into our room only to find a semi-made bed, marginally clean bathroom, unkempt futon and window blinds half-cocked. The room felt cheap, not nearly worth the price asked.
In addition, we called the phone number for the Grand and left multiple messages with no response. We're still waiting for a call-back.
We left our room and the Grand and stayed elsewhere.
We have fond memories of staying at Grand on another trip, but this time the Grand was very disappointing.
What a great boutique hotel in the heart of Montana. My family really enjoyed our stay. The service was great and the staff were all very friendly. Location is perfect right in the middle of town. The rooms were very clean and comfortable!
I thought I would treat my friends to a nice dinner but I sure picked the wrong place. I can't think of anything positive to say about the entire experience. If I am going to spend $50 a plate, I shouldn't have to ask for utensils and appetizer plates and there should be a functional restroom. There were items on the menu (such as risotto) that they didnt have. These are a few examples of restaurant service 101 that the Grand fell short on. I didn't take pictures of the food because it just wasn't worth it.
The waitresses were nice but it seemed they were not given the tools, training and support needed to be successful.
Will I try it again? It will take a lot of 5 star reviews from locals before I would give it another shot.
If you say to yourself “ How can you screw up a French dip sandwich? You’d be wrong. Beef that was so dry it was hard to chew plus it smelled like it was in a cooler for a week. Served on a stale hoagie bun and accompanied by the world’s cheapest fries. I didn’t even get three bites into it. My bud ordered a med- rare burger that came out like a hockey puck. Yes we complained and still got stuck for the full amount. this is so sad because we’ve eaten there three or four other times and it was fine. I don’t know new owners new help your guess as good as mine.
The waiter was so kind and accommodating.
