I came in from two days of elk hunting and sat down at the bar to eat and drink. There was live music - blues and blue grass mix - from a talented guitarist named Brandon.

I had the Gnocci for dinner. It's pure comfort food! Bacon, creamy sauce and potato dumplings.

The wait staff were all friendly, helpful, and they know their craft!

I ended with an apple caramel Romanoff for dessert and went home full and content. It's good to see a restaurant that provides the small town appeal and has staff that work to make the place a success.

Noteworthy details: I've never sat a bar and had such good conversations with staff and other patrons as I had at the Grand.

Worst breakfast I have ever had in a restaurant. The eggs were overcooked and the food was cold when served after a long wait in a nearly empty restaurant

Great stop. Amy was incredible as our server. Oinion rings were light and yummy. Hamburger was huge. Definitely will go back

The bed was super uncomfortable and the room was SO hot and thermostat didn't work. There was a ceiling fan, but it didn't work. We slept with the window open. Cool hotel but won't stay again.

Noteworthy details: Very uncomfortable bed!

What a great find. We did not book a room the reviews were mediocre. But we will next time. It's adorable and they have many options.

Food and drinks: The restaurant was great. The burger and oinion rings appetizer was HUGE. If you are salt sensitive maybe ask them to reduce the salt. Ours was delicious but a little much. Clam chowder is one of my favorites and it was off. I am guessing it was just a bad night. Our server Amy FANTASTIC!!! Definitely on the return list

Fantastic historical hotel, with a very good restaurant, probably the best one in Big Timber (small town, low bar!, but still...). You will not be disappointed.
The owners are VERY committed to the business, and have obviously prioritized all the right things.
There are many comfortable and inviting common spaces. Rooms are large. Bathrooms are grouped across the hall - these are all private bathrooms, not a 'group' bathroom. Robes are provided.
4 stars instead of 5 for the rooms because of imperfect sound control between rooms. Not a big deal but if the couple in the next room is 'having words', you will notice.
A REALLY nice place.
One word of caution, the front desk is not staffed all night and the room keys don't open the front door, so if you leave and come back very late, or make 2 trips to get your stuff in your car before 7 AM you might get locked out! Yikes! Talk to the front desk if access late might be needed - I'm sure they have a solution worked out.

Bummer! Was excited for a night out -
Birthday dinner but it ended up a bust. Was seated quickly and served water and that was the end of it. We sat all of 20 minutes without further service. Frustrated, we decided to leave and ended up eating a good, lively dinner at the Timber Bar.

Was the only steakhouse in town for one night asked for a table said 30 to 50 min wait. Decided to order of the menu and take back to the hotel. They said it would take 30 minutes to make seafood Alfredo

Food and drinks: Horrible service!

The Grand is an old and historic hotel. Rooms are small & lack storage. Most do not include private baths.
However there are multiple shared bathrooms & I never had to wait. A bathrobe is furnished.
The public areas are luxurious in a 1910’s kind of way. The restaurant & bar are good but pricey.

Walkability: The hotel is at the center of the downtown area, which is small. The area is very safe & has little traffic. The town itself is well preserved and picturesque.

We booked a room here for the night originally because it was the most affordable option in the yellowstone area, and I’m so glad we did! The staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful with amazing bathrooms right down the hall, and a sauna! The restaurant downstairs was also great and we had some of the best food we've had in a while. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Did not stay inconvenient parking and access to rooms

Walkability: In town, only walkability, bad drive ability.
