Do not get the chicken fried steak. Meat was stringy to cut and spongy to chew. Also had a dark meat gravy not the traditional white. Great potato and eggs tho. And huge coffee cups. Nice atmosphere and staff.

I had the pleasure of discovering this amazing restaurant during a trip to Billings. My entire experience was outstanding. Ill never forget Bernie's and I"ll be visiting again with any opportunity I get. The server Micki, was the cherry on top; she was cordial and made me feel at home.

Bernie's has always had a unique blend of breakfast foods. I had the chilaquiles verde and it was delicious. I've also had their elk skillet which is amazing. The elk was very tender. Also Love their pork chili. And can't forget about the amazing hot chocolate and milk shakes.

We stayed at the Northern Hotel for 5 nights, and our last morning there, we decided to stop in for some breakfast.Food was served cold when asked for it to be heated in the microwave it was still cold.I had two bites of my food, and my boyfriend still ate most of his food.I'm not sure what was going on this day. Maybe the kitchen had an off day.I wasn't trying to get our food comped by any means, but the manager was nice enough to do so. It was much appreciated!(Yes, I left a tip for our waitress. It wasn't her fault)

The food here was SO good. Had the biscuits and gravy and it was amazing, delicious biscuits and you get a TON of sausage with your gravy. It's attached to a fancy restaurant, had a gift shop to browse while you wait for the food. Our waitress was super sweet and fast/efficient. My only complaint was that our Hostess was pretty rude but I won't let that affect the rest of the team's score lol.

Sat at the counter for 15 minutes, and was never brought a menu or asked what I wanted to order. Wasn't super busy, but I was completely ignored.

The atmosphere here is bright and cheery. The service was fast (not many people in there at 8:30 on Saturday).I give 3 stars for 2 reasons. First, the Biscuits and Gravy were awful. Visually, they were completely unappetizing- enormous serving of a rusty colored brown. Taste-wise it was super overdone with pepper. Out of 4 biscuits (a nice sized serving) even my daughter, who has a very tolerant pallet, could not eat more than 1. The rest of the table tasted a 2nd biscuit and we agreed they were poor. The pancakes were a great size...but mushy inside. Then there was $4.50 for side of bacon - a little over the top, not included with the skillet meal (small portion) but tasty.Overall, a welcoming environment.

I had the elk sausage. I liked it. One word of warning for those who are not used to elk is that it is very gamey. You may really like it or maybe not at all. The coffe was to my liking and the mugs were huge! Portions were large. The decor is really cool.. 60s dinner motif. My server was a breath of fresh air. Very engaging, bubbly and personable. Even a little sassy ? I dont think she is an eagles fan. ??‍♂️Parking: Lots of one way streets.. kinda like any metropolitan downtown.

Great little diner. We were staying at the hotel so had to check out breakfast on the way out of town. I had the pork breakfast nachos, husband had the elk skillet and we shared the banana bread French toast. The French toast was awesome but it was all good! Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. I love the decor, only wish they had booths but this is definitely worth the stop!
