I went to the location on 24th and the first girl didn't even greet me just said rudely, "she'll help you over there". oh,ok so I moved over and the 2nd girl did say hi but didn't ask what size I wanted. After the coffee was done all I heard was "here's that Americano for you". No thank you or have a nice day or see you again. Absolutely were not friendly at all. The coffee itself was horrible and weak. I can get better coffee at the gas station. Thank you for serving me today but I will not be back.

High tops have plenty of outlets to plug in at. Coffee is great, pumpkin bread was phenomenal (I only just remembered to take a photo before finishing it)

I got an iced latte. Coffee was great. The mango hibiscus iced tea was good. There is not food like it says on google. They do have quiche, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches. Just fast grab & go!

While passing through Billings, I googled coffee shops. A couple came up with 4.8 stars, even a 4.9, but when we saw the number of reviews, Black Dog Coffee House won.
Upon entering, you see everything you expect to see in a coffee shop. The woman taking our order was professional and friendly.
Now Iâm not going to say that paying almost $30 for two drinks and two chocolate croissants wasnât a bit of sticker shock? But the moment we took the first sip? In the top three coffee shops in the 17 states that weâve been in since mid-May, without a doubt. The coffee to breve ratio was outstanding, the coffee flavor impeccable.
And then we tasted the chocolate croissant. They would have been worth it had our final bill been $50.
I have to stop and give context. Iâve lived in France and traveled in Europe extensively (as a student, on a studentâs budget, lest I sound too âdoo-wahâ). As a vegetarian, the cuisine wasnât my thing. The bread, on the other hand? Absolutely my thing. And in Europe, bread is amazing. Itâs like without even trying, they made it perfect. And doesnât matter what it is, croissants, baguettes, pretzels. You name it they outdo us.
The chocolate croissants (and I assume all the pastries) are made in-house. When I spoke with the baker who creates these masterpieces, I expected an accentâŠFrench, undoubtedly. Nope! American as they come! But gifted beyond all but a few!
If youâre within 100 miles, you should go out of your way to visit Black Dog Coffee. But seriously. There should be some way to give them more than 5 stars, much like students who achieve a 4.37 GPA? Thatâs Black Dog Coffee House.

The coffee was so bad, I felt like they used hot sauce instead of water to make their coffee. I had an espresso and a filter coffee and both were the most bitter and horrible coffees Iâve ever tasted. I threw both of the drinks in the garbage immediately after tasting it. Never coming back.

One of my favorite coffee shops. There drinks are wonderful and they have a good selection of bakery goods. The staff are always very kind and to top it off, I love that they are dog friendly!

Being from Seattle (coffee country), this is always my coffee shop of choice when in Billings. Happy to visit here every trip! â ?

Variety is not the spice of life in this small chain of restaurants. OTD coffee is restricted to Black Dog blend or Sumatra/ Guatemala offerings and the breakfast sandwich offerings are tasteless ,dry, and remarkably overpriced. Yet the ambiance on the 10th Street location (fornerly Harper/Madison) is a touch of hipster protocol out shining its sister 24th St and Poly Drive alternatives. Most of their wait staff are polite, pleasant, kind, Gen Z additions and some take the time to know you by name if a frequent flyer. Worth a visit but stick to the croissant offerings be they sweet or savory to err on a more acceptable culinary choice.

No longer recommend this coffee shop. Big Sky Roasters instead.
