I ordered through Ubereats. I'm no expert in Barbecues but the food I ate was absolutely not exceptional nor was it satisfying. I've had a long day at work and thinking a good Famous Dave's food would be good I ordered through Ubereats. The flavors were lacking and the roasted chickens flavor didn't seem to burst out and melt inside my mouth. The corn on cob was ok but I think they could dunk it in melted butter before being served. The mashed potatoes.. fantastic as always. But the one thing I hated out of this ordeal was that my bag wasn't taped shut. When I go deliver foods for Ubereats each and every business(Panera Bread, McDonald's, Wendy's.. etc) in Billings have all taped it before hand. Mine arrived without a tape on the plastic bag. The driver could've tampered with my food without me knowing.
If you are visiting Bozeman, Montana, and you plan to visit local restaurants, Famous Dave is one to check out. I have had their “All-American BBQ Feast” a few times and it was perfect and delicious every time. The waiters are very friendly and very respectful of my time.
This place was terrible! Rarely do I place a 1-star review but this place was not good. The meat was very firm and the taste was poor. I feel the pulled pork was reheated. We were a family of 11 and called 3hrs early and were told that the size of the group would be fine. We did not feel welcome, service was poor, and the food was terrible. We chose to eat here as it is a national staple for good BBQ. Take this warning as you wish. I hope they were just having a bad day.
Excellent service, great choice of food. The service was excellent. Especially the gentleman who served us was so kind . He provided excellent suggestions to food choice and drinks.
Waited for over two hours for service, watching other tables larger and smaller than ours come, leave and then be replaced. When our food did come it was cold, lathered in barbecue sauce and despite the sauce drowning the meat, flavorless. Would not recommend for people with a tongue.
I was there about a week and a half ago. I received my chicken sandwich, the roll was toasted, but cold. I asked him to warm up the roll. I took the chicken out of the sandwich. They're all came back not much warmer than when it left, and it was then that I noticed that the chicken wasn't very warm either. I asked him to zap it in the microwave. Again, that did not come back much warmer than when it left. It was really disappointed. I didn't finish the sandwich, I put it in my trunk and forgot about it. The service was very good, I can't remember the name of the waiter. The first time I ate here was when I first moved to Bozeman, and the ribs were very very good. I went to another time after that and got the roasted chicken, I didn't like that very much. This time I didn't like my visit very much either.
DIRTY. DIRTY. DIRTY. We were told there was a 15 min wait to be seated and ended up waiting 25 mins. I asked for an extra plate when our food arrived and the waitress brought a dirty plate that still had food on it. I set that aside and didn’t use it. Then she didn’t come back and ask if we wanted refills till after we finished our meal. She never brought the refills after we asked for them. Then came back and asked if we wanted dessert and we said “Well we never got our refills” the booth was very dirty and food splatters were everywhere. On the curtain divider, the seats, the walls. They are only cleaning the top of the tables and nothing else. I would not go back. Our waitress was Abigail T. I understand that places are short staffed but if you can’t provide good service and clean the restaurant then just close the doors.
Whitney was an awesome waitress, very attentive and kind. Enjoyed the rib tips and roasted chicken on a 3 meat platter. Would choose something else than catfish tenders next time due to personal preference.
I ordered a Jacked and Stacked. It is (or was)my favorite burger at Famous Dave's. The last time I was there I told them that I wanted it very well done. I told them to tell the chef that when he thought it was done to please cook it a little more. That is how I LIKE MY BURGERS. It was pink inside. This time I told the waitress to PLEASE make my burger VERY WELL DONE. I told her last time I order one they did not cook it enough. Guess what? Yeah. When I received my burger it was pink inside! Our waitress (Abbey) didn't come back until our meal was over. Although not overly concerned that my uneaten burger was pink inside she did offer to get me another one. What good does that do when everyone else has been finished with their meal for 10 minutes. I really don't think it is that hard for a chef to cook a burger the way a customer likes it. Last chance Famous Dave's. There are plenty of other places that cook good burgers for when I feel like going out for a burger.
I got to talking with Eric, the server/bar tender about how I was able to take my wife to the original Famous Dave's in Hayward, Wis a handful of years back. I also shared that I was presently on a motorcycle trip to revisit places my wife and I had visited before she passed as this week would have been our 50th Anniversary. We had a wonderful conversation and I am thankful to meet such great people at Famous Dave's.

Cake in late in the evening off the roast and ordered it to go. Food was made fast and tasted good. Got some sandwiches for a quick bite. Staff was nice even with us coming in shortly before closing time. Friendly staff.
I have been able to eat at many different Famous Dave's across the country over many years without a bad experience. I am a MT native and recently moved to Bozeman. This location has to be in a league of their own with the service and food. We each ordered the 4 ribs meal and when we received the ribs, it was nothing like we have ever had. The ribs were not cooked all the way so instead of them falling off the bone like they usually do, we had to tear and pull at the miniscule amount of meat that was on the ribs. There was so little meat on my 4 ribs that I think I got one mouthful of meat out of all 4 ribs. I told the waitress and she asked whether I wanted the meal comped or more ribs. I just asked to have them comped because the ribs were horrible. I then receive my bill and was only given a 50% comp for my meal. Horrible service, Horrible food, horrible prices, will never go back! HANDS DOWN the worst Famous Dave's I have been to.
Solid food. Solid service. The waitress was super nice! And did a great job recommending things and helping us out with our order. I would give this place 4.5 stars out of 5.
Great service, a waiter can’t help poor management. Made sure to tip 20% but was very unsatisfied with managers on duty and their staffing choices for a holiday weekend. Waited literally over an hour for food. Whole experience took over 2 hours and cost $150 for 4 people. No thanks. Pleasant server was not to blame for the experience we had. There’s were 9 pieces of cheese curds for $12 or $13, portion control unreasonable on that one. Waiting over an hour, managers should be comping drinks, deleting appetizers, and giving away promos or gift cards to get customers to come back. Poor kid tried as hard as he could and said managers didn’t schedule a line cook so the managers were in the back struggling to put food in the window. Don’t go here, it’s simply not worth your time or the $20-30/plate that they charge for the good BBQ items on the menu
First want to shout out the bartender/waitress. She was excellent! It’s the hostess that is rude and inconsiderate. She plays on her phone continually and when people walk in she ignores them so they seat themselves. I headed to the bar to seat myself and she got snotty with me and said she does the seating! We’ll get to it then! Food was great and my waitress was excellent
