I have the privileged life of having eaten all over this continent and I am humbled to say that this is one of the best meals of my entire life. Top 3 maybe. I arrived adter a day of hiking and still in my gear yet received exceptional service with a smile. A pleasant, communicative, and accomodating wait staff combined with a menu created by someone who understands food better than any celebrity chef you've heard of in a nice, yet not demanding, atmosphere delivered the most sublime dining experience I've had in years. Make this stop.

Can’t go wrong! Got this recommendation from a person at a nearby coffee shop. Did not disappoint.

Parking: We parked a few blocks away and did some window shopping on the way over. Super easy to find parking on the streets.

Small farm to table restaurant in Bozeman. Menu changes based on produce from the farm. Had delicious fried carrots and a pork loin. Flavors were Asian fusion. Meat cooked perfectly. Glad I came in.

We were excited to eat dinner at Little Star! We ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees and a dessert. The first app took a very long time to come out (45 min), our entrees came out at just over 60 minutes. I asked that our second app be cancelled given our entrees being delivered- which was disappointing. The tacos were good, the sirloin was cold, tough and under seasoned.

Other tables around us waited a significant amount of time for their food as well.
We decided to get a dessert (I’m GFDF) and there was an option! It was fine- but I wouldn’t come back for it.

In my opinion, food wasn’t worth the price, and the flavors were underwhelming.

Legitimately the best Caesar salad we’ve ever had. The rest of the food was also fantastic, service was great. COME HERE

Creative seasonal offerings are presented beautifully. The carrot tamales were a highlight! Butter chicken and fish tacos also delicious. Sat at the bar, which allows you to see the food preparation and enjoy the incredible aromas wafting over.

Kid-friendliness: Go early with kids

I had an over poor experience at Little Star diner. The one saving grace was the falafel app. It was delicious.

I was very optimistic about this restaurant but it took well over 1 hours and 45 minutes to get our entrees, which were both disappointing. The kitchen ran out of what my partner had ordered so she chose a new entree, already 45 minutes after we had originally ordered. About an hour later our entrees arrived. I got the pork steamed bun which, in my opinion, was heavily over seasoned (I generally prefer heavy seasoning) and lacked any wow factor. It was a fish I would happily pay $15 for at a food truck.

My partners dish was ice cold and had clearly been sitting out of heat for at least 10-15 minutes. We sent the dish back and asked for our check. We left with having received attempt to right the situation of further comp our meal.

We left little star still hungry and frustrated.

We dined with a large group, sat on the upstairs outdoor balcony. Service was excellent. Good beer and wine selection. Appetizers were better / more consistent than main courses (broccolini and sourdough+tomatoes). Pork loin was too well done / dry, but the sides were top-tier. Gnocchi was fantastic, noodles in other dishes were edible but uninteresting.

Small portions, just ok quality and very expensive!! I grew up here in bozeman and it seems most restaurants are just mediocre!! Just hype on this restaurant

If I could give it more stars, I would. The food was some of the best I had during my trip to Montana. They source their food locally and rotate the menu seasonally. The fried carrots app and spring salad changed my life. The tagliatelle was divine. The ravioli was very buttery and wasn’t as garlic-forward as I was expecting but still delicious. We absolutely loved our meal. Try to get a reservation, especially on the rooftop patio if it’s the appropriate time of year. Peak vibes. Worth mentioning, the building is beautifully designed and constructed. The materials and layout are functional and pleasant yet surprising. The plants surrounding the rooftop provide a gorgeous ambiance. And the art on display from local artist Anna Patterson perfectly depict the gorgeous Montana vistas. Don’t miss dining at Little Star Diner!

Dietary restrictions: Lots of dishes were organic, gluten free, and vegan.
