They started doing a 20% automatic tip. Gone downhill since then.Food is decent. Drinks are decent. They dropped a pizza on our table. Stuff went everywhere. Had to make a new one. It happens. But there was no “free drink” or something taken off our tab. And of course, we were charged the 20% tip as if all was perfect. After years of enjoying this spot, we have moved on.

Came in on a few recent Fridays for a couple afternoon drinks. The place was fairly slow/quiet and had about 7-8 staff. Nobody greeted us and we finally decided to sit down despite the sign. It took another period of time before someone would come to bring a menu or acknowledge our existence 5ft from the bar (3 staff behind the bar). Again, zero effort to show any smile or greeting, just went into this tacky explanation of their mandatory 20% gratuity. They have a decent wood over margarita pizza and good old fashion cocktail. Overall very unresponsive service, just robotic task oriented non-smiling service with high prices and added Bozeman tourist tax driving away us locals. The marketplace is cool but bourgeois. It’s more millennial meat market.

A group of us ate here while back in Bozeman, Montana visiting our family and friends. Pretty cool place and always busy. I ordered a brick oven pizza that was pretty good size for 1 person, although it was very greasy it tasted good especially the crust. My wife had the peach salad with chicken and she really liked it, my buddy got a burger and enjoyed it as well. Our overall experience was good, a little spendy but what isn’t in Bozeman, not the same town we grew up in by any means. Definitely recommend trying Nordic at least once.

I came in on a Thursday at 3:45 and was told they don’t serve food until 4 and couldn’t put in a Togo order. I came back the next day and made sure it was after 4….then waited 18 minutes for a to go desert. Yikes. Good news- for $11 they couldn’t even be bothered to put a whole piece of cheese cake in the container. Nice that the automatic 20% surcharge has really made service and quality decrease. No wonder they were slow as hell on a Friday evening. This is definitely the last time I’m coming in. And it used to be one of my go tos.

For some reason they think they can provide crap service and automatically charge you a 20% tip. Not to mention their food is average at best and usually out of most of their beer selection.

We went to the restaurant in June after reading reviews. Really looking forward to eating here. The atmosphere was really nice. After being seated and ordering drinks. Eventually our food. It took about 45 minutes to get our food on a non busy lunch hour. The table next to us arrived long after us and had their food before we did. Our waiter never checked on us, just took order and brought our meals to us. By adding a 20% automatic gratuity the service suffered. We spent approximately 1 1/2 hours in the restaurant.

Stopped in here for a late lunch after a hike. The main dining room is bright and airy. The staff was helpful and great with answering questions about the menu. They have a number of Polar and other beers available on tap. The food was light but more than adequate and well prepared.

We're in town for our anniversary from out of state, found this place on accident. Great beer and cocktails, food and service were awesome. Highly recommend the steak frites.

Love the food and beer! Don't even mind the 20% fee (I presume back of house is also being paid less than minimum wage which I thought was the reason for tipping servers - I can't pretend to fully understand). However, I don't appreciate the server making mistakes like charging me full price for beers during happy hour (hoping I wouldn't notice?) and bringing me the sparkling wine option that was not included in the happy hour when I was clearly ordering from the happy hour menu and then playing d*** with me ($12 vs $5 so an extra 20% on that $7, which is less than the extra tip I would have left her if I felt she was being honest - obviously I will never know!) I love the food and beer and will be giving it another go for sure hoping for better service!

Enjoyed a terrific lunch. Great beers and ciders. Both the regular and gluten free pizza crusts were excellent - tasted freshly made.Dietary restrictions: Great options for gluten and dairy restrictions. One of the best GF crusts I've ever had!

The waitress was ok. She looked like a scared deer in the headlights. Not much personality or engagement in general but primarily about the menu. When we asked her what she recommended she said she only liked Caesar salad. Just like the rest of Bozeman, staff needs more training. Food was Eh. We had a salad, BLT, Ceviche (not good) and the Elk meatballs. Everything was VERY marginal. Then the bill came and it was abundantly clear to us why they don’t train their staff to engage the customer…because it doesn’t matter what kind of experience you have, you’re charged a 20% gratuity on the overpriced food and subpar service regardless! Do better!

We have eaten here before and it’s ok, some of the beers are pretty good. Then they charge you a 20 percent service fee. Which is strange and not obvious. They need to give their employees a raise. After they charge you the fee the waitress has to ask you for a tip. Unfair to them, and unfair to the client.

It took 45 minutes to get one sandwich and a side of fries on a quiet Sunday afternoon, and we were otherwise ignored. We had to ask about the status of our food. 20% service charge is added automatically onto the bill - which rubbed us both the wrong way. Perhaps pay your staff a bit more? We didn’t love the automatic 20% for what was otherwise bad service. Will absolutely not be returning and wouldn’t recommend. There are far better places in the market

Every cocktail was great with a large beer selection and well varied dinner menu! Service was fast and friendly.

3rd time I have tried Nordic. I'm done trying. Food service was extremely slow and arrived cold. Took 55 minutes to get our food and had to box it up to get to an appointment. If I could have tipped $0 I would have, but they have an automatic 20% service charge! I guess that's one way to guarantee a tip even when it is a horrible experience.
