Excellent service by all, but especially our server. Food and drinks were excellent. Best steak in all of Montana!!!
Our server, Renee, was excellent and so was the food. When we travel to Bozeman from St. Louis, we always make sure we eat at Open Range.
The food and service were both very good. I would have given 5 stars for sure but the servers timing was not great and maybe not her fault. We waited 30 minutes for a first cocktail, there were several other long periods of waiting for a next course. Overall though a great night.
We had a 7pm reservation on a Saturday night in peak season, there were 4 other tables in the restaurant, Service overall was slow. The entrees were good, the sides (potato purée ) were covered & dripping in garlic butter where we couldn't eat them (still ended up paying for them tho). Cornbread was good. Drink service slow. By the time we left, there was maybe 7-8 tables in the restaurant. Left with a meh overall impression of the place.
Sadly it just wasn't good. Have been here multiple times and was satisfied but this was simply below par, and for the price way below. Cocktails were made wrong, truffle fries were not cooked- it literally was like eating a raw potato with parmesan on it. Ordered ribeye medium rare it came very rare except the extreme edges. Was not offered any fresh ground pepper or anything to go along with it. I guess you don't get bread with dinners anymore either which is a little disappointing with the price. The brussel sprouts were good and I would recommend them but it was not busy and the server although very nice seemed to have hard time with the basics.
My favorite place to eat when in Bozeman. Service and food has always been top notch. You can tell it is a chef driven restaurant. Everything was fresh and tasty. The expanded menu has really added to the appeal for myself and family.
Sehr gutes Steak von Montana. Wir hatten Filet und Rib Eye. Angenehmes Restaurant mit viel Platz zwischen den Tischen. Lediglich die mashed potatoes hatten zu viel Knoblauch und Butter. Gute Weinkarte.
Excellent food and service. Bison ribeye was terrific and all the sides were outstanding. Large portions so plenty to share around the table. When in Bozeman again, we will certainly come back here.
I had been to Open Range before and had good experiences. This last dining experience though was not as good. My husbands ribeye steak was full of gristle- not just fat but gristle. Wait staff was very nice to take the price of the steak off our bill. Our sons steak and fries and his friends steak and fries weren't up to the value of the cost either. Dining out is too pricey these days to accept anything but amazing. I had the pork and French onion soup and those were very good! Live entertainment was there 5-7 and she was great!
Special dinner for my daughter's graduation from MSU. Dinner was phenomenal, the service by the reception crew was extremely welcoming, and our waiter (who was the bar tender also) was great! Our steaks were amazing, and the wine paired with the steaks was fantastic. Amazing evening to cap off celebrating my daughter's graduation from MSU!!!

The staff was super friendly. Our server Liam was awesome and had great knowledge on the tequila the restaurant carried. The Buffalo Cauliflower had the best ratio of salty to savory with the blue cheese. Oh and the Cowboy cut was not only huge, it was delicious and cooked to perfection.
Apps were over salted and main and sides weren't seasoned enough. I had higher expectations
Great place

Way overpriced. Steaks were warm, filet was good, ribeye not so much. Brussel spouts, fries and potato puree were cold, staff seemed unhappy when we sent the order of fries back asking for a warm order. Over $200 for 2 without drinks or desert, would expect a way better experience for the $$.
