Rad Foods Montana Private Chefs and Catering

We have used Red Foods for catering a meal twice in our private home. They were both great and the team was professional. Great on timing and cleanup afterward.

This chef was a no show on event day. No communication , no apology, no anything. I booked him six months ago and put $1000 down payment. I literally was chasing him down the weeks before, trying to create a menu . I traveled to Montana with a group of four couples and was giving them this experience as a surprise. Chef Austin stopped returning calls/texts, would promise to call you back and then didn’t. Once I arrived to Montana, I stressed about the event every day I was supposed to be on vacation. I begged him not to leave me stranded and he did just that. Regardless of the other glowing reviews, my experience was awful. Save yourself the trouble and book someone else. It just isn’t worth it. If I could give zero stars , I would.

Having read the glowing reviews, I was sincerely looking forward to working with Austin and RAD Catering for a 3 day event with 21 high end guests. I booked 10 months in advance and yet found the communication went from bad to worse. I should have trusted my gut and cancelled but by the time communication got so bad, it was too late to book someone else of quality.

Days before the event, I had recieved no menu, no choices, and he was not returning calls or texts, which was terrifying to say the least. On the day of the event, he simply did not show up, nor did he call or text to offer any apologies or explanation. I was left to scramble, call in favors and our intended high end event went to deli sandwiches for lunch and u bake pizza's and salad for dinner in the blink of an eye. Thankfully all the guests were understanding and sympathetic. This was the worst catering experience I have ever had and I will NEVER recommend this catering/chef service to my worst enemy. Give them a big pass and keep scrolling!

Chef Austin and his team made my foodie father's birthday dinner a huge hit! He developed a menu based on my dad's favorite foods and thoughtfully created dishes that were innovative and delicious. Austin is so fun to talk to and plan with, and he made the process of creating a dinner event easy and collaborative. His plating was beautiful and the portions were generous. There were 3 generations of one family at this dinner and all of us were so happy with the food and the entire experience. Gabe and Alex who helped out were super polite and organized and left us with an immaculately clean kitchen after the meal. We couldn't have wished for a better team to make this party so special!

Austin and his team were exceptional and provided our group an unforgettable experience. Our menu was completely unique and everything tased spectacular. The open fire provided an authentic experience. Highly recommend.

Dinner with Chef Austin and his team was fantastic. Extremely professional and friendly. The food was amazing and they cleaned the kitchen so well you would never have known they were there.

Chef Austin is a culinary genius. We first hired him locally for our rental stay in Montana and as well as our home in Wisconsin recently. Both times have been the best food experience all of us have ever had! We still talk about the tempura quail and waffles to this day. Chef figures out what your tastes are and cooks it in a friendly style interacting with the group. You get a show and the most beautiful dishes you will ever have. I wish we lived closer to him because I wouldn’t go anywhere else for food. Keep up the hard work Chef Austin. Thanks for providing the best culinary journey of a life time from you and your crew. Alex makes a great side kick in the kitchen. Can’t wait to see you both again.Cheers

There are no words in the English language to properly describe how incredible Austin, his staff, and his food is. He created an incredible experience for my wife’s 50th Birthday and it surpassed every expectation I had. The process was collaborative and one of a kind. You won’t find any Pre-set menus to choose from- instead he will craft a unique experience catered to your specific event and will leave you and you guests with their jaws on the floor. Easily top 3 meals of my life. Now I just need an excuse to book Austin again. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Legend! Austin delivered multiple meals for multiple days all 10 out of 10 in taste, quality, and preparation. I also very much enjoyed taking some time to speak with him and learn more about what and how he was cooking, you can tell it is real passion he loves.

Chef Austin is truly remarkable. The love he has for love he has for the food he cooks is in every bite you take. He is an amazing man full of incredible stories and definitely the kind of guy you want at your next event. 10/10 recommend!
