Parking is 'interesting' for first timers. Food good, though. I automatically subtract three stars for any place that presents a tablet for pay that includes a suggested 'tip' even before the food is served. AND I always decline to pay any tip so presented. I always tip, always cash, and always after I eat.

The food was great, probably one of the fried chickens meals i have ever had. I would really consider looking into updating the dining area as it takes away from the great food being served.

Cute little place. Wait can be long because their kitchen is small. We like all their food.

After seeing a play in Livingston, we stopped here for a bite before heading back to Butte. Very delicious and I highly recommend. The chicken strips are so juicy and delicious!!
I have gone through phases of liking Roost but recently the service has been horrible. We waited 40 minutes for our food. At 30 mins we asked and the kid behind the counter said “oh you didn’t get it yet?” We then waited another 10 minutes even though he said it was just being finished. Everyone who ordered after us had already gotten their food. He didn’t offer us any refund, or anything to make it right. I am disappointed in roost.

I was born and raised in the Southeastern US and can confidently say the food at The Roost ain’t just the best Southern food west of the Mississippi—it’s just plain good. Slap ya mama good. The chicken ‘n’ waffles and sweet tea is my favorite brunch in Bozeman. The “See Rock City” barn decor and such adds a nice nostalgic touch. Even when I’m in Tennessee visiting my folks, I’m looking forward to the next time I’ll be hitting up The Roost!
A note to The Roost staff: I presheatecha!

I’m sorry to give this review because it’s a local restaurant and I have really wanted to like this place: on several occasions over a 6 year span of eating at roost like 2-3 times per year we have had inconsistent service and inconsistent food quality. more than once I have had my order lost in the transition to back of house- after waiting 30+ minutes and inquiring the staff couldn’t find my order. I was once served fried breast bone scraps which were clearly accidentally included in a frying batch after de-boning for chicken sandwiches. I would say the food quality, when good, is excellent. When my order gets messed up they give me a refund, so they’re trying for sure. I just had inconsistent experiences that are certainly caused by mismanagement, order disorganization, and likely poor handling and training practices. I think these are ownership and management issues more than anything else.

I got food poisoning October 24th after eating a Nashville hot chicken sandwich at the roost. I do not recommend eating here! If you got sick after eating at this restaurant contact the Gallatin Health Department
