Been coming here for years. Always love the staff Kaela is AMAZING!!! The 2 stars is for the decision to take the huevos rancheros off the menu. How disappointing!! Bring it back!!! Bozeman is changing but at least keep the things we love and make it still feel like our home. Thanks
The food was good and it was a very reasonable noise level. The service could improve. The prices were high, but it is a nice place
My brother was in town and staying at the Days Inn. He wanted to meet for a quick dinner somewhere close and I told him I had the perfect spot as one of my favorite restaurants was right next door. BIG MISTAKE. Our bartender was clearly inebriated. She was slurring her words, slamming things and complaining to the staff the whole time. I have been coming here for ten years and recognized only ONE server. The bartenders used to be the best in town! Even as the food has gotten mediocre over the last year, the service has remained AMAZING. Well that’s a thing of the past. The menu is half the size it was twice as expensive. Food was overcooked, surround sound was cutting out, and everyone working seemed like they would rather be anywhere else. By the time we finished, I felt the same. I will never be back..
Edit for response: you disagree with my assessment? I’ve been here longer than your social media team has been around: You had the best people and replacing them with emaciated blondes throwing things around isn’t impressing any of us. Is it really what you thought would work?

As longtime locals, we’ve supported this club through all of its changes over the years because it was once one of our favorite places in town. Unfortunately, each visit lately leaves us more disappointed than the last.
The service lately has been hit-or-miss, but what has become consistently disappointing is the food and the incredibly long wait times. Nearly every visit now comes with a wait of close to an hour, only to receive meals that are a shadow of what they used to be.
The mac and cheese was once our go-to order and one of the main reasons we kept coming back. Since the recent change, it tastes more like a basic kids’ meal than the signature dish we loved, with dry chicken and a small drizzle of BBQ sauce that doesn’t make up for the lack of flavor.
We were especially excited to see the fried chicken sandwich return to the menu, hoping it would bring back some of what made this place special. Instead, it was nothing like the sandwich we remembered and loved.
We understand that businesses evolve and that changes are inevitable. However, it’s genuinely sad to watch a place we’ve supported for so long lose the quality and charm that made it stand out. What was once one of our favorite local spots has become a place we’re increasingly hesitant to return to. We keep hoping things will improve, but we’re running out of reasons to keep giving it another chance.

New management has destroyed it. Food is subpar, not as good as it was before. The TV is so damn loud you can't have a conversation, plus the reception was cutting in and out, so you'd have about 40 seconds of quiet and then blast your ear drums. It was a Thursday evening, and 3 guys at the bar were watching the game, the rest were about 10 tables with families trying to have dinner. I guess new management wants it to be a sports bar. Right after ownership changed, I said let's cut them some slack, let them get it figured out, but no it has steadily gotten worse over the past year, not better. I don't think it can get much worse. If you are lucky enough to get a waitress from before the switch, then you will have great service. If not expect crappy service with long waits. Also bring back the old menu, your new menu sucks and bring back the fresh brewed iced tea and not the crap out of a soda gun.

One of the last places that makes their own Chicken Fried Steak. It's a shame they can't cook it properly. NO, you don't cook the steak first before you bread it. The chicken fried steak I had was darker than golden brown breading, but the meat, BLACK. And for the eggs, I ordered over easy. I've had runnier yolks from hard boiled eggs.

They stop letting people in 1 hour before closing time. We got there at 7:57pm on a sunday. They were NOT busy at all. Maybe 5 tables were occupied in the whole place. We stood at the entrance waiting to be seated. It took about 5 minutes and she said, we close at 9, let me ask the cooks if it's okay to seat you ... I look at my watch, it wasn't even 8pm yet .. what the heck.
We did get a seat. The waitress was in a rush to get our orders in asap. We kept it simple with a burger and Salad. We had our food, are and were gone well before 9pm
I don't recommend trying to enjoy a late dinner at this place unless you want to be treated likea burden

The Club Tavern & Grill: Where Old Bozeman Still Holds Court (and a Bloody Mary)
Listen, in a town that’s gone from sleepy college outpost to “Montana’s Aspen” faster than you can say “tech bro with a Patagonia vest,” there’s still one glorious bastion of unpretentious glory. While the rest of Bozeman is busy building $2.5 million “micro-ranches” with heated floors for the dogs and oat milk on tap, this place is quietly doing what it’s always done—feeding the real ones. You know, the folks who remember when Main Street didn’t look like a Instagram backdrop and parking wasn’t a blood sport. While the rest of Bozeman chases the next trendy spot with $22 “foraged” toast and valet parking for Teslas, The Club just keeps being The Club. It’s where the old-school Bozeman crowd still gathers: the ranchers, the longtime locals, the folks who remember when you could actually find parking downtown without sacrificing a small goat. You’ll see them at the bar, swapping stories over coffee while the slots hum their gentle “maybe today” soundtrack. It’s pure, unfiltered Bozeman nostalgia in the best way.
And the food? That’s why I keep coming back. The breakfast is legitimately excellent—huge portions that actually power you through a Montana day. Chicken fried steak done right, eggs any way you want ‘em, pancakes that could double as manhole covers (in the best possible way), and biscuits & gravy that taste like home. Nothing fussy, just honest, delicious plates that hit the spot every single time.
The service is classic Montana friendly—“hon,” endless coffee refills, and zero pretension. It’s the kind of place where you can roll in solo with yesterday’s hair and still feel welcome. In a town full of things trying way too hard to be the next big thing, The Club Tavern & Grill stays gloriously, stubbornly itself. That’s rare these days. And smart as hell.
If you want a real taste of old Bozeman (and a belly full of great food), pull up a chair. I’ll probably be there soon—look for the guy who clearly eats here often.

Just like corporate to come in and ruin a community staple. Congrats on taking a well liked establishment and running it into the ground. They’ve traded in its local charm for temu diner tables, and the results are honestly embarrassing. It is so weird to not let your staff come in to enjoy a meal on their day off. It’s clear the new management cares vastly more about shaving fractions of a cent off their inventory than they do about the community that kept their doors open for years. Enjoy watching this corporate shell turn into another forgotten casualty of Bozeman’s growth.
I will never ever return to this dumpster fire of a restaurant ever again after new
Management/ownership. Someone just got fired because she refused to pour half shots for all drinks per their new policy. Charging people full price for half the alcohol. Scammers. I hope they realize they are about to go under. And don’t bother replying with some AI created response back. See ya never club tavern.

This place has certainly gone down hill since new ownership in 2024!
Yes, the Best Western Plus GranTree Inn and its attached restaurant, The Club Tavern & Grill, in Bozeman, Montana, were sold to an out-of-state buyer in early 2024. The locally owned business, a long-time staple in the area, has also transitioned to a new management company, causing some transition-related changes for staff and customers.Property Involved: The Best Western Plus GranTree Inn and The Club Tavern & Grill (located at 1325 N 7th Ave, Bozeman, MT).Transaction Status: Purchased by an out-of-state buyer.Management: A new management company took over operations as of March 2024.The site continues to operate as a hotel, conference center, and restaurant.
You Don't attempt to fix an establishment that was fine and well liked. I'm at least a 10 yr patron who will not come back!
Good Luck!

used to absolutely love coming here. came here for YEARS. days off, after work, etc. we were always there to see our favorite staff. recently, the service has completely changed and gone downhill. the food is not nearly as good, costs triple the amount, and drinks are 1/2 as strong and double the price. seems like after this place sold and changed ownership, the quality and true family-owned vibes that fit into the montana culture really disappeared. our favorite bartender/ casino attendant and only reason we have been still going in is Chandra. & now that the new ownership messed that up as well, we will no longer be giving ANY money to this establishment.
edit for the “owners response”
renovations should not lower quality of food/beverage in a restaurant. if your “renovations” are impacting the quality of the product you should close down during renovations. it’s giving a bad taste in the mouths of your patrons & long time guests. the lackluster attitude & no care attitude of losing customers who have been frequenting your business for 5-10 years is insane. when you lose thousands weekly from the lack of money going into your bar & casino i hope you realize the consequences of these actions against your 15+ year long employees.

This place has gone down hill. I use to frequent this place for food, drinks and maybe a few dollars on the casino.
The food quality here has gotten worse and the price has gone up.
Lastly, eveytime I have gone lately it's been slow and not many people to talk to and hear their life stories from.
EDIT: This is in response to the Club owner. Service and food quality should not change based on renovations happening nor the change in operations. Thank you for the generic response. Not that my patronage means much but you have lost a weekly, if not daily, customer. There are plenty of other bars and casinos that provide bare minimum standards.

I have been a regular at The Club Tavern for years. Before I turned 21 it was my favorite place to sit down with friends and have a nice, affordable meal. Afterwards, it became my favorite place to go after a long day of work and wind down with a drinking talk to some amazing people from all walks of life. Since this place changed ownership a few years ago, the food and service have been on the decline and prices have continued to increase. Seeing the constant management and and staff changes, I can understand why. You cannot maintain consistency in your food if the kitchen staff turns over seasonally. Your service experience is diminished when long time customers come in expecting to be greeted by the same friendly faces they have come to care for over the years and they are met with a new face everytime the enter your establishment. It's pretty clear to me that whoever is in charge now does not care about a loyal customer base or the locals, but about driving profits into yet another corporations pocket while everyone underneath them blindly follows.
