We have been to the Tune Up before and had a good experience for their happy hour. These days it’s hard to find happy hour from 6-8 and a $10 old fashioned isn’t so bad.
But this time we decided to try a snack to share. The bison skewers sounded great. Bison, pickled peppers and whipped feta. We were already pretty annoyed by the two drunk women dancing and being really childish spilling their drinks in front of everyone and harassing the musician on stage. But then when the skewers came my wife and I almost laughed out loud. What arrived for $12 at our table was two small ground bison chunks of burger each on their own stick. And feta sauce under the meat and a few pickled mini peppers.
What we were expecting was some finely cooked and seasoned steak. Why would we expect ground bison? It said nothing about that. When I asked to speak to the manager he did nothing but defend the price of the dish and told me that’s what bison costs. Sorry but I’ve been around long enough to know two 1 oz pieces of ground bison should not cost $12. He also defending the obnoxious women making a scene.
When we got our check, nothing was comped. I told him we were locals and we were disappointed he acted like he could care less. We obviously won’t be returning which I’m sure doesn’t bother the manager because he just wants to appeal to the tourists and take advantage of people’s wallets. It will undoubtedly fail like every other restaurant that follows that business model.
This is my first review. Sorry it’s long. I’m just so tired of where the food and beverage industry has gone in this town.
Whoever bartended on Halloween night decided to tip themselves on my credit card and I do not appreciate it. I left a $0 tip on my card and left a cash tip that night instead. I just checked my bank statement and whoever handled the transaction decided to leave themselves we a $10 tip for a single vodka lemonade that night. Shady service.

The place is good, but be very careful because the bartender will take advantage of you. I ordered an old fashion with Bulleit Rye and she said they were out of it and offered another rye instead. She said it was made by the guy who plays Kip on Yellowstone. When I went to check out the old-fashioned cost $36. It is the most expensive drink ever had and putting a super premium liquor in old fashion is just plain stupid. I feel completely taken advantage of. I didn’t want to complain at the time because I was with people.
