Stopped because of the name and would never return because of the service. Server never said hello, just sort of tossed menus on the table. Took our order and seemed annoyed that we didn't want to pay extra for fries. Never came back after she brought the food and when we went to the counter to pay our bill she didn't say one word.

First the young waitress suggested hot chocolate for a beverage! SMART! We'd never think to order it, but it was perfect on a cold night.
Our food, Chicken Fried Steak and Salisbury Steak were HUGE portions and beyond delicious. The mashed spuds were perfectly homemade and the fresh sautéed mushrooms and onions were absolute perfection!
So. Go. Eat well. Tip well. Its small town dining at its BEST!

We stopped for lunch at Spuds Cafe in Chester Montana, pop. 837. The food was excellent, (best patty melt I ever had). The service was friendly and prompt. It is a neat small diner where everyone knew each other. You've got to love small towns off the beaten path.

Four of us on Motircycles had a beautiful breakfast/lunch at spuds Café today. We were served by Sage who was absolutely delightful and very keen to fill up our water, glasses and coffee, etc. The food was absolutely magnificent. The burgers were the best we’ve had in a long time and the farmers breakfast was wonderful. Homemade hashbrowns. We highly recommend this place.

How can they be rated when they are never open? We spent the weekend in Chester and both Friday and Saturday they were closed over an hour before they were supposed to be. No sign…nothing. Closed. Why advertise hours if you don’t keep them? SUPER FRUSTRATING!! I wouldn’t eat there now for anything
