About the best you could ask for from an authentically quaint Montana spot. Our server was delightful and chatty and the food was excellent. I never expected to be impressed by a pancake, but that was the best pancake I have ever had.

We drove 30 minutes to come eat here because we were receiving horrible service from the previous cafe we were trying to eat at, and this was the next closest one. We walked in and there were about 8 tables open around 9am. I am white and my boyfriend and his friend are black. From the moment we walked in we were getting nasty looks. The server, (who I believe another worker told us was the boss), told us that all 8 tables were reserved and we couldn’t eat there. I immediately felt weird about the situation so when we got outside I called the cafe and asked if they had any available tables, pretending to be someone else and that we were interested in coming in right away. The lady who answered said “yes we do, come on in!” So I walked back in to speak with the lady who answered the phone (who was a different lady than we one who turned us away) and I could tell she was shocked to find out it was me on the phone. She immediately started stumbling over her words and said “it’s not me, it’s the boss, I'm sorry”. Safe to say this is a very racist establishment. 0 stars.

Today on July 12th 2025 my family and I went into Bearstone Cafe and was met with the owner and told every table in the restaurant was reserved... meaning 5 tables and 2 booths. My family consisted of 3 white adults 2 black adults and one mexican adult 2 white children and 1 mixed child. We went outside and called and asked if they were full and if they had any tables available and the reply was yes they had tables available.

They were so awesome! Well, they didn’t offer the breakfast sandwich I was craving they made one for me! The hostess was so helpful and made the suggestion and delivered!
The place was so cute. I wish that we could’ve really stopped there to eat, but we needed to be heading on down the road!

Great atmosphere. Server was friendly and professional. Biscuits and gravy not the best. Sausage gravy no sausage taste. Bacon was awesome. Scrambled eggs were folded not scrambled (eggs like mc d) would i go back, yes but first try the other breakfast spots in town first. Store hours are not correct on google maps.

So I don't usually right a review but I had to this time. Good food, great place, but the hostess/ waitress was a downer. All she did was complain about how many people were coming in and was complaining about customers. Old lady with blonde hair and a noise ring needs to find a job that she's happy with. I pray the owner sees this review and gets rid of her before she ruins your business. I'm sorry.
Cozy little cafe. Went in for breakfast with my son and had a nice meal. The service was friendly and quick. We were the only ones there so it was nice and quiet. Nicely decorated in a cabin style.

Our server was fantastic! Wish I caught her name. She was great! The food was good, but it did not sit well a few hours later. I had biscuits and gravy with two over easy eggs, 2 sausage patties, and hash browns. As I said, it was delicious at the time, but man, it gave me really, really bad gas 😳 my dining companion had a chicken patty with Swiss, ham and honey mustard, served with ff. Again, it was delicious going down, but again, he had the same gas problems. The restaurant was clean, bathrooms were clean. Maybe the fryer oil needed to be changed.

This unsweetened tea was $5. I didn't see drink prices on the menu when I ordered. No wonder people were drinking water. The salad was $16 on the menu but my ticket said $17. One waitress was really rude and acted like she wanted to turn me away. She said her side was full but I could see vacant tables on the other side. I told her I'd wait. After a while the other waitress seated me. She was nice.

Cozy little cafe. Went in for breakfast with my son and had a nice meal. The service was friendly and quick. We were the only ones there so it was nice and quiet. Nicely decorated in a cabin style.
