The waitress, Mandy, was just right. She did a wonderful job and was so pleasant. She made it a nice experience. The food was served in a timely manner, but lacked imagination. It was evident that the products came out of a Costco bag and left me feeling like the prices were even higher than I had originally thought. Way too pricey. Also, it doesn't have to be 180 degrees inside just because its December. 70-75 degrees is plenty adequate.
Thx

Service was fine, food was mediocre for the price, 8.50 for not even a pint of beer is ridiculous.

The ribeye steak was OUTSTANDING! The house salad was ok; quite small for the price. The coleslaw was bland.

The service was exceptional though: quick, pleasant.

Finally, the Montana steak dinner atmosphere was exactly what we pictured (and wanted!)

We recently held our wedding reception at the 406, and I can honestly say it was a truly spectacular experience. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the charm of the venue. The warm ambiance created by the fireplace set the perfect tone for our celebration, and the outdoor dancing area was a delightful touch that our guests thoroughly enjoyed.

One of the highlights of the evening was the food. We chose a menu that featured salmon and ribeyes, and both dishes were cooked to perfection. The salmon was flaky and flavorful, while the ribeyes were tender and juicy – it was clear that a lot of care had gone into preparing each meal. There was more than enough food to satisfy our guests, and the selection allowed everyone to find something they loved.

We also appreciated the unique huckleberry drinks that were served, adding a special Montana twist to our reception. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that everything ran smoothly throughout the night.

Overall, our wedding reception at the 406 exceeded our expectations in every way. We left with wonderful memories and would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful place to celebrate a special occasion.

Thanks to Jason and Catherine and several of the other staff at this great Cafe, I was able to find my friend from 54 years ago in Darby. I had a great time in this Cafe and meeting everyone. The food was delicious. I only hope I can come back again. Meeting and seeing Peggy Sue was a blast!

Terrible experience. We came in at about 3:30pm with very few people dining in in the Cafe. We were visiting the town the first time and felt hungry and simply ordered a sandwich and salad. We waited more than 30 minutes, no food served. A couple came in after us who ordered after us have been served with food within 15 or so minutes and start eating. We asked the waitress where is our food and why even people came after us already started eating while we kept waiting? The waitress said our food will be ready in 5 mins. We waited for 15 more minutes, the couple had already finished eating, while us still drinking water. No one came and explain us what is going on. We were starving and felt insulted. I went up and asked the waitress again, she said it’s “almost ready”. I have no idea what kind of sandwich & salad takes them an hour to cook with so few people in the place and what is her definition of almost ready. We were frustrated and left the restaurant.

I’m a local. Food is ok. Atmosphere is pretty good. Service is fine. Prices suck. It’s too expensive to eat there. My burrito was $22. I had a Tito’s martini for $14. My wife’s glass of wine was $12. The dessert was $8.50. Am I sounding like a cranky old man? Well anyway. If you and your honey go out to eat there and you believe in tipping it’s gonna cost you a Benji +.

We sat outside by the stage...The atmosphere is very welcoming, our server was on top of everything. As far as food, we got 5 different appetizers (coconut shrimp, chips and queso, shrimp cocktail, beef fries and cheese curds) everything was hot, seasoned well and tasted great...Extra points for putting the shrimp cocktail on a bed of ice!
