We had dinner here in mid September and it was by far the best meal of our entire trip to Glacier!
Went there for dinner, the food was excellent, the service was great, and we had a wonderful time. Highly recommended!
One of the best meals I've had a long time with great care from the staff. Each impression made was over the top. Even with a few minutes of a wait for a table, the staff made everything right and ensured their quality was even better. Definitely recommend to anyone who is coming to The park or just passing through stop to grab some dinner you will not regret it. Views, ambience, and taste were incredible. Cannot even put it into words how great this dinner experience was. Hospitality was A1 with the most genuine staff, you cannot find that just anywhere. Thanks everything! Hope to be back

Our experience at the steakhouse tonight was truly fantastic! I will preface by saying there were quite a few unhappy customers, we were not one of them. We understand that restaurants can get slammed and the staff can only do their best. Waits were on the longer side but how can you be mad with a view like that! We enjoyed our dinner outside on the deck and had fun looking for wildlife while we waited. The owner Ted along with the rest of the staff were incredibly kind and genuine people. I would come back in a heartbeat.

Read all the reviews about the lodging as they are mixed in with the restaurant and therefore diluted. The lodging is subpar here, and on top of that, if the basic amenities don’t function you’re met with poor customer service and non customer centric policies from the establishment.
We checked in around 3:30 pm and needed to be up by 4 am for a half marathon, and found no hot water in the Grizzly cabin. We promptly reported it to the front desk and were told: “This happens. It will take hours maybe even tomorrow to get it fixed.” To which we asked to speak to the manager and were told “He is too busy right now”. Over 2 hours later (After we drove in to town and secured alternative lodging) the owner claims that he is just now hearing about it. We explained we were leaving and wanted a refund because the room was not ready for us (no hot water). This was also paid in full, in advance, 6 months prior, and the lodge is refusing a refund..
Needless to say we didn’t stay there without hot water, but given that it was paid in advance we have yet to receive a refund or even basic acknowledgement of the poor service that was provided.
In all my domestic and international travelling I have never dealt with customer service this poor. I wish I would have taken the time to read the reviews on the lodge prior, as well as the owners responses. The responses alone show the lackluster attitude towards unsatisfied customers and their refusal to take ownership for any issues, especially one such as this where they failed to provide the services that were paid for.
There are other items that would be minor but worth mentioning as well. The site is misleading in that it makes you believe that the lodges are quiet, have wifi access, and that the costs are all inclusive of a normal hotel stay, but.... Its right next to train tracks, wifi is limited or non existent, and if you use the dishes or other items provided you have to clean them or pay extra. I have only ever seen this in AirB&Bs and they notify you upfront and ask if you wish to pay the extra fee.
Overall this was the worst experience, at any lodging facility, around the world, that I have ever had and I would avoid this place. The owner needs to take a course in customer service to understand how to properly resolve issues caused by their own employees or failures of their establishment.

Ratings apply to steakhouses only.
Probably one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. Peter was an excellent server and made our experience even better.
My wife and I came here to celebrate our second wedding anniversary and couldn't have asked for a better place.
Everything is reasonably priced and the food is great. I ordered the bison meatloaf special and it was the best I have ever had. The huckleberry cheesecake is also delicious.
If you are traveling near East Glacier Village, you must stop here for dinner. Thanks to everyone who made this a great night.

I recently “stayed” or planned to stay in June at the Summit Mountain Lodge Hotel, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. I made this reservation in November, I was amazed by the good star rates, so I did not think about it much. It was close to Glacier, a good nature spot and more importantly, the next day we were going to run the Glacier Half Marathon. I had been traveling from Yellowstone to arrive at this wonderful place and enjoy our Grizzly family cabin. Final Verdict: Save yourself the disappointment and choose a different establishment for your stay. As of today, we have not received our money back.
Let me break down the issues I encountered:
1. Hot Water Debacle: Upon checking in, I was eager to unwind with a hot shower after a long journey. However, when I turned on the faucet, only icy water greeted me. We waited for around 30 min, and nothing. Despite my complaints at reception, the situation remained unchanged when we returned. Hot water is a necessity, and the hotel’s failure to provide it was unacceptable. How did they expect us to shower at 3:00 AM due to our shuffle bus being scheduled at 4:00 AM next morning?
2. Customer Service Woes: The staff’s attitude was lackluster at best. When I reported the hot water issue, they shrugged it off, promising a fix that never materialized. Requests for updates were met with indifference. It felt like they couldn’t care less about guest comfort.
3. Other Shortcomings: Cabin odor; the room smelled like vinegar. You must clean everything because the cleaning service was not included in. They charge for this.
4. Resolution Attempts: I tried to address these issues with the front desk, but their response was disheartening. They offered no compensation at the first contact I made, or alternative solutions. It seemed they were more interested in avoiding responsibility than ensuring guest satisfaction.

We just had a delicious dinner at Summit Mountain Steakhouse! After a great day hiking from Sun Point up to Virginia Falls via St.Mary's Falls we were starving. We arrived at the restaurant right when they opened at 5pm, were warmly greeted by the proprietor, and quickly seated. Every staff member was kind, attentive, and treated us so warmly. My huge ribeye was perfectly cooked. My friend's stuffed bison meatloaf was exceptional, and our huckleberry cosmos were the perfect end to a beautiful day. We did not stay in their rooms but I still gave the 5 stars so that the overall restaurant review would reflect its perfection, and considered their deck my "room." Photo attached.

Ted was awesome. Hannah was truly amazing. They are currently doing some updates and just opened for the season so some of the "fit and finish" could have been better.

Summit mountain cabins are one of the best places I have stayed in my entire life! It was a little difficult at first to find where they were located, the GPS guided us to a road side hill at first but the cabins were actually at the exact same spot just behind the hill lol! It tells you how scenic it would have been. I was given a brief history of the cabin and the rail road that runs behind it on my arrival- took me back 100 yrs, the lobby is very iconic by itself- looked very historic and lovely. We stayed in huckleberry cabin which is located on the riverbanks. Having said that, I could view the snow topped mountains along with a blue river and low rumbling of trains every few mts. (Chicago-Seattle route). It was bliss bliss!! My family wanted to do another trip to Glacier park just to stay in these cabins ❤️❤️❤️
Rooms: The view of the mountains in itself is a luxury that we get for the price we pay!

My husband and I stayed here for a few days during our honeymoon and we enjoyed our stay very much! The Huckleberry cabin was cozy, private and we would love to come back to visit again some day soon. We would definitely recommend staying at Summit Mountain Lodge!
This place is a gem and it's straight out of a fairy tale! Can't imagine a more picturesque place to stay if you need some R&R. Cabins are private, CLEAN, and spaced out well. View from the deck of the restaurant with the water and train is breathtaking. Nice quiet sunrise on the mountain mornings with the birds chirping. You can tell this is a family run place and they take pride in everything down to the breakfast that's included with your stay. Hospitality was wonderful and we were provided park maps and tips on the best spots to hike. It's the perfect middle ground place to stay if GTTSR is closed. Lodging is 25 minutes away from the Two Medicine Entrance, (our favorite) an hour away from St. Mary, and 50 minutes from Apgar. As you drive out of the resort, they have a sign that reads "Don't let life get in the way of living." Sometimes we all need that reminder. Already looking into our next stay. Can't wait to be back!

For the price we paid there comes an expectation. That expectation was not met. There's no tv in the room, the beds werent very comfortable and pillows were too soft for me, and breakfast is only from 7 to 9. The driveway is very bumpy with many pot holes. Not lit up very well. Wouldn't be staying here again or even recommend it.
