What a great evening! We had the pheasant rangoon, caeser salad, chicken pot pie and elk osso bucco and a wonderful chardonnay from a locals winery in Northern California. All was just perfect!
If you’re looking for an easy “date night” from Bozeman, come to Ennis for the night, get a cabin at El Western and enjoy a wonderful dinner at Tavern 287! So worth the trip!

We decided to eat an anniversary dinner here based on our hotel's recommendation. Called and made a reservation a few hours before dinner. Got there and we were seated immediately. The owner runs the front end and was very helpful with info and recommendations, although he was extremely busy; he never stopped running... If you order one thing on the menu, it should be the Pheasant Rangoons. They are insanely good! Served with a lemon-garlic caramel cream sauce; I could have eaten 3 orders of those and been happy! And the macaroons to finish the meal? Awesome... One thing... DO make reservations, even if it's just a couple hours in advance. I saw at least a dozen parties get turned away because the place was at capacity. Most of them were offered seating within an hour or so, but the owner is savvy enough to know how many people he can serve properly at any one time. This is definitely going to be a stop on my future trips through Ennis!

Fantastic addition to the food scene in Ennis. Tavern 287 fills a void that had been here for sometime. The food is superb; surprisingly varied and remarkably reasonable. A great place all around.
I’ve been coming to Ennis 25+ years, and Tavern 287 filled a much needed void in Ennis’ culinary scene. Bruce is a class act and the food is elite. That braised elk.

Absolutely FABULOUS FOOD!!! Get the baked Brie!!!!! Everything here is just wonderful! This was a stop overnight for us on a 16 day roadtrip and this was the BEST meal we have had!!! Cudos Bruce!!!!!???

Tavern 287 has incredible food coming from an excellent chef. We had the elk oss bucco (which blew my mind!), pheasant rangoons, & bison meatloaf!! Reservations are required for any night, as there's a small staff, but it's definitely worth it!! Expect slow movement from the kitchen.
This place is AWESOME. Excellent food. The owner is one heck of a nice guy and is so personable. Food was top shelf! We got the shrimp pad Thai and the chicken scallopini and both were such quality dishes. We will definitely be back. Their bread and butter was so so good too. Overall, this place is a gem in Ennis! Great small town service and exceptional meals! Loved it!
